She was an interesting character, and she only appeared sporadically for three episodes.
What's the deal? Did she decide to leave the show? Or did the writers simply not know what to do with her character?
Because all of Raiden story arc sucked.

I think people didn't receive her character well ...
I'm not sure if there wasn't more Gwen because of the writing or because of a business issue (for example: Alexa simply choosing not to do more).
Who knows?
But I definitely would like to have seen more Gwen. They ran out of female characters at the end. It might have been cool to have Gwen as a regular in season 5.

Gwen is amazing. Definitely my favorite one-off (kinda) character in the Buffyverse. I remember Alexa saying the reason why she didn't come back was because she got Riddick, and had to do months of training and then filming. The writers wanted her back on Angel, possibly a main character in Season 5 and explore more with Gunn, but she just couldn't
