She's awful.

Right now I'm watching her try to be mysterious in The Man in the High Castle, and she just comes off as boring. She brings zero personality to this show, which just goes to show that her garbage performance in Riddick really did showcase her full potential.

The entire show is boring, so I'm not sure it's her fault.

Agree totally. Her scenes are almost unwatchable. They keep referring her to as pretty and I get confused as to who they're talking about. That judo move where she tossed the guy off the dam was so freaking cheesy and contrived and her subsequent guilt about killing the guy who was trying to kill her is absolutely absurd. Didn't these people just kill her sister???? And she feels bad about killing the guy??

Plus, the guy playing Joe Blake with that horrible bulldog underbite trying to look all misty and pensive like he's Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall. He sucks so friggin bad I want to meet him so I can kick him in the nuts.

These two actors are ruining brilliant source material, excellent production values and performances of Rufus Sewell, Rupert Evans and Joel de la Fuente

I have to agree. She not a very good actress. The premise of the show is intriguing, but the actors who portray Frank, Joe, and Julianna are pretty bad.

reply

I'm not going to defend her but I will say that I'd expect people ewho are under an oppressive rule like the one in the show probably wouldn't have overt personalities, or go around being very happy and emotional people. Most characters in the show seem to be that way.

reply

Frank is ok, but I do agree on Joe and Julianna.

Good point

It is a good point, but we are talking about entertainment fiction, so you do have to star characters that bring vibrancy and a level of attachment.

I can see everyone's point. I find Alexa the best of her, Frank, and Joe. Joe just seems like a serial-liar and is just "there". Frank is just utterly annoying and unlikable. Alexa doesn't really have much of a personality herself, and her motives are very cloudy, but she is at least decent to look at.

Rufus and Shang Tsung kill it, as does the Japanese security chief.

@Brandon4791...thought it was just me! :) I'm slogging thru episode 7, series 1, after seeing gazillions of ads on what a 'thriller'this series is and am also finding this well meaning lady about as 'mysterious'as a box of soggy saltines..also picked up on a disTINCTly 'brad-esque-ness' vibe coming off of Mr.Evans whenever he donned his glasses, pouted, and mused on various 'sufferings'...isn't working for me, either but I'm sincerely hoping Mr.Sewell et al will make this NOT an altogether dull experience..??:)
