Most borrring band in history
Every time I hear Martin's whining, tonedeaf drone I want to claw my own eardrums out.
The songs are futile and morbid and the band members are so bland and square, like Genesis's.

They formed at a point in the 90s when there was a whole slew of these bands. maybe they are a product of their time.
jj72 . snow patrol . The verve
To me they they are the guitar version of RnB music - a genre i've totally written off because blandness.
If you think The Verve is bland, you have probably only heard their big hit, Bittersweet Symphony. Check out their earlier albums. A Storm in Heaven is their best.
shareWhen they first hit it big in the 90s I immediately heard the styles they "borrowed" from U2, Radiohead, and Dave Matthews band.
shareModern day Dire Straits.
