Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal are circling Nocturnal Animals, the thriller that's marking the return of fashion designer Tom Ford to the director's chair for the first time since 2009's A Single Man.

Adams is in talks to star while sources say Gyllenhaal is attached to star as the male lead.

Insiders also say that Joaquin Phoenix and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are also being sought for leading roles.

Wright's book was initially published in 1993 and tells of a woman named Susan who receives a book manuscript from her ex-husband, a man whom she left 20 years earlier, asking for her opinion.

The book then tracks two stories: the story in the novel, titled Nocturnal Animals, which tells of a man whose family vacation turns violent and deadly; and the story of Susan, who finds herself recalling her first marriage and confronting some dark truths about herself.

The project is still being packaged and is not set up at a studio. Smokehouse has a first-look deal with Sony.

Hopefully it happens. It sounds like a good project for him after the success of Avengers.

From that synopsis, the movie sounds like an Oscar bait.

Read an interview with him after The Avengers,Age of Ultron...he said he and his wife who just worked on 50 Shades of Grey want to take some time off and enjoy family..they have 4 children...

Smh. Young guy who is taking time off from his career just as it's thriving to take care of his 4 kids. I'm sure he will always love his children, (obviously) but I forsee a mid-life crisis in 20 years when his kids have grown up.

He didn't get to enjoy his prime years with freedom and self discovery. Instead, he is learning how to be a father and husband. That usually works better AFTER you've done the freedom and self-discovery thing.

This isn't about his wife's age or looks neither. I feel this way about anyone who has a family and ties themselves down so young before their own pre-frontal cortex has completely finished developing. A person, mentally, isn't TRULY an adult until the age of 25, the age it does finish developing.

It's his life, by all means, he's the one who lives it but I definitely think he will someday wish he had started a family later in his life, as a lot of people I know who started families so young.

Who knows? Maybe him and his wife will stay together forever. It is unlikely, though. It's much more likely that he will be a hot 40 year old guy who leaves his wife so he could bang 20 something's.

Maybe the family life suits who he is right now but will it suit him forever? Only time will tell.

You should write a book about it
