Why didn't she get a big break?

She had a few minor roles, then got L word for 2 seasons, then got her own TV Show for 2 seasons and that got canceled, then Life got canceled...
I would like her to get bigger than a few appearances here and there but I don't think she can carry a show by herself so maybe an ensemble? IMHO Fairly Legal and Life weren't that...good, I think they were poorly written.
Also, what's with Person of Interest? Is she a regular there now?

What?...Life was an excellent show and highly rated. The problem was it was on NBC. Sara Shahi has been on quite a number of shows since 1999, but some actors are simply "character actors" by choice or by chance.

Yes she is a regular, but even POI may not last but 3-4 seasons. She's also back on NBC's Chicago Fire.

Acting on 2 prime-time shows at the same time in my opinion can be considered "successful".

Yeah...but you see, I think she should be an A lister!
And about Life...the beginning, the premise was great and everything but then it just slowed down and lost that momentum, it just became a cop show and left a lot of things out in the open...

She was great in Life until she decided to get pregnant.

she definitely should be in more shows, she's talented and uber HOT !!!

In my opinion look no further than USA's Fairly Legal from the few and they were just a few I saw her more of her in Louboutins and panties more than in the court room. First scene of the show she had on a Man's shirt in which she dropped to go back upstairs cue shot of A** and panties until fade to black. Now since USA is the sister network of NBC than they obviously thought she was ready for more of a meatier role nope! She delegated well and seduced her way to judgments but USA knew what they were doing when they inserted Suits into her time slot......I mean they kept Psych on for years wasn't that painful enough?

Uhh she has had her big break. She is a very successful actress: she's more successful than 99% of actors.

She's been a regular on 5 shows (including 3 on broadcast networks and headlined her own cable show) and had recurring roles on a number of other hits. All that by 33 is very impressive.

I know this thread's from a while back, but I think it's relevant given the POI burn off.

I actually wouldn't usually agree with this type of statement, but her pregnancies do seem to have affected her career. She also often acts like the same character.

But, in regards to getting pregnant: Some have argued that her first pregnancy helped kill Life because she was one half of the lead pairing and fans simply weren't ready for her sudden disappearance. Her addition to POI and subsequent pregnancy and writing around that also appears to have negatively affected POI's ratings.

Have you... actually watched more than two of her shows? Her character on the L Word is vastly different than her character in Life, and her character on Fairly Legal is the complete opposite of her character on POI.
