Just keep watching modern family or some other mindless comedy, leave the complicated stuff to the adults.

Everyone has a sense on humor it just differs. My parents were watching Bad Moms on New Years and I caught a bit of it and I didn't find it or her funny at all. I don't think any normal hetero sexual guy would though.

Some movies may not be of your likings and her character may not be funny for you. But that doesn't mean she isn't funny. She is funny in interviews and really smart.
