She's done stuff that I haven't personal enjoyed, The Vow, Aloha, The Hot Chick, Everything Will Be Fine or have wasted her in sub par roles, Southpaw, Doctor Stranger and Sherlock Holmes films.

But overall I think when she's on form and has a meaty role to bite into, she's a pretty damn good actress. I like that she doesn't always chose the easy roles that will bring her box office success things like Disobedience, A Most Wanted Man, Passion, To The Wonder, The Lucky Ones, Everything Will Be Fine. She does do the odd romantic film and commercial films that aren't my cup of tea, like The Vow, Morning Glory, Mean Girls, Wedding Crashers, The Time Traveller's Wife and The Notebook but I'm sure those film's are what most on here are fan's of her through.

My favorite roles and films, I think her best performance is in Spotlight, it's not a showy performance but delivers one with a lot of heart.

I think About Time, even though she takes a backseat for a lot of the time. I think it's the best film out of her romantic roles and she's at her most lovable in this, and you understand why Domhnall Gleeson's character turns down Margot Robbie's character and goes to all the trouble he does to be with Mcadam's character. It's a wonderful underplayed role and at that time she was a big name and to take a backseat like that shows she's all about what makes the film better rather then her own ego.

I loved her in Game Night, she can do comedy pretty damn well. I thought she was the best thing in Disobedience. Red Eye was a guilty pleasure of mine. Midnight to Paris, great to see her play a bit of a bitch. I loved A Most Wanted Man, her performance is a bit of a dry run for the one in Spotlight and it's a underrated film.

I saw Red Eye in one of those unexpected times when it was on TV and I wasn't doing anything and it was a nice taut thriller, at least on the first viewing. Like you say, a guilty pleasure, maybe. I felt the same about the Ashley Judd film with TL Jones, Double Jeopardy. Not a great film but a fun watch. Red Eye kept my interest, and RayMac was lovely in it.
