Obviously, I know that it isn't, but it is still a derogatory slur that is primarily applied to or used against people who may be autistic or mentally challenged or have a learning disability. The r word is (or should be) considered as intolerant and as offensive as racial or homophobic slurs.

Because this forum had to make a sub-forum for politics to keep political talk out of the movie threads. The same is done on other forums. Sherdog.com, which is an MMA site has a forum called the "War Room" for politics. Chat forums have to have a spill-over political forum in many cases.
