I heard today that Ashley will be dropped from the cast of "Joey", as the producers felt she didn't go over well with test audiences. Let's hope for a last-minute miraculous change of heart!

shareI can understand this, though I'm not sure why they needed a recast. I didn't like the idea of Joey chasing after a maried woman. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I don't see how they actually thought a scenario like this would be popular.
shareIMO, the whole "loveless marriage" concept smacked too much of the Niles-Maris `ship on "Frasier."
It's one thing to model "Joey" on "Frasier"; it's quite another to ape it.

I just read that on TV Guide.com. I thought it was so strange. I think she appeals just fine to audiences. hmmm. Maybe there is something else there.
I also read something about how excited she was and she thought people would really like the show. How sad for her.

That guy cracks me up, and I am happy he is on the show, but playing the son of a girl who looks like she is the same age, should be interesting.

shareActually, they weren't talking about general audiences. The word was that the test audiences didn't like her. And we all know how MUCH test audiences know. [She's coming off action and drama shows. It's probably better to do that, than to go into lame duck comedy shows.]
