why does CNN keep saying there is an exodus of musicians from Spotify?

Only three after a week and no one cares about Nils Logren.

Harry and Megan (not musicians) are just using this an excuse to continue not delivering product.

CNN put a filter on a Rogan video to make him look sick after he got over Covid in a couple of days and were pushing the horse dewormer story harder than maybe any other news outlet.

These establishment media outlets calling for Rogan to be silenced have been selectively reporting facts and stories and spreading misinformation themselves. Rogan's been very critical of them, especially CNN. This is who the cancel Rogan (and many others, actually) think should decide who we can listen to.

Because telling the truth would be counter productive to their narrative.

reply

Because the list keeps growing. And most musicians have always hated Spotify before this even happened.

Nonsense. Just 3 and some nobodies. CNN is Big Fake News.

The list is still small. Less than 10 who have taken action. Some, like perennial poser David Crosby, say they would if they could but they can't (to paraphrase Freddy Mercury).

However, you made a valid point "most musicians have always hated Spotify before this even happened".

This "protest" really about the money, not the principle.

Aging rock stars (and non-stars like Nils Lofgren) have found a way to get their names out to two generations who know them as the parents' and grandparents' music. So now they generate new sales and streams on Apple, Amazon, and other streaming services. Good business plan.

I am guessing those leaving Spotify in a huff never even watched the podcast in question (Dr. Malone).
