Oh the irony....
....that these old rebels don't realize they've become part of the oppressive establishment.

shareYeah, there were always trying to "stick it to the man", now they are "the man".
shareNothing says rebellion and rock 'n' roll like suppressing thoughts and viewpoints that you don't want other people to hear.
shareI brought this very point up in another thread. The hippies have become what they were against 50+ years ago. The irony abounds & is so obviously transparent.
And BTW, I'm pushing 60, so I grew up on his music & still like most of his early stuff. I just wish him & all these other musicians would leave their political leanings OUT of the music. That goes for lefties like Young, as well as righties like Ted Nugent. Shut up & play yer guitar!!
I can't believe they do not realize it.
I agree 100%! I don't care if they're left or right, if they keep it to themselves. Let the music speak for itself. That said, if they are outspoken leftists, I can't bear to listen to them. I've had to walk away from some old favorites because of it. I even had a rather heated back & forth with a guitarist from one of my favorite bands since the late `80's.
What an idealist. Way to stand up for the people, stick it to "the man", Neil.
He won't share a platform with Rogan, but he'll do business with Blackrock and is now promoting Amazon.
He also doesn't have a problem with all the disinformation that these establishment news sites have been spreading, all the times they've told us something was settled science, the opinion of the entire scientific community, only to pivot because of evidence or it was in their interests.
They've slanted their reporting so much on Covid that most people in the US have a wildly exaggerated idea of the risk of getting hospitalized or dying from Covid. You won't hear that poll mentioned much by them.
Also, Neil Young blamed "f##@s", his word, and was telling people he thought you could AIDS from people like cashiers in stores back in the mid eighties.
It's mostly just virtue signaling, meant to appeal to those it appeals to. Mostly low information lemmings.
