What I wish I could say to Anton Yelchin...

I have never before enjoyed, appreciated, and admired an actor's performances as much as I have yours-- you consistently displayed amazing talent, sincerity, and incredible dedication to each role.

I was so looking forward to watching you tackle your role as an antagonist in Mr. Mercedes. I had not heard of the book, but after reading that you had signed on for the role I bought it last week and began reading it. Now I couldn't care less about that project. I threw the book in the trash Sunday night.

I am devastated by your passing. My heart breaks for that and for your parents (with whom I understand that you had an incredible, loving bond--how lucky both you and they were) and to your family and friends in this impossible time of grief.

Anton, you were the best, sir. I'm grateful to you for the influence you had on my life through your work and the fact that you were such a decent human being.

You were truly loved by your family, friends, and fans.

Without your presence the world is now a much darker place. I read on social media from Addison Timlin that she doesn't want to live in a world without you in it. I understand her sentiment. I was moved when she also quoted a line spoken to her by you as the character Odd Thomas in the final scene of that movie:

"I love you and I promise I will see you again."

Rest in peace Anton, knowing that you positively affected the lives of millions of people around the world. In the short time you were here you lived an incredibly wonderful life--what I would refer to as a kind of dream life. For that I am thankful.
