A Few Kind Words For Anton

I loved Anton, as much as a non-crazed fan could. I think we really saw his true character in the roles he played. He chose those parts very well and worked along side a STELLAR collection of seasoned performers. If his death was relatively quick and painless, he had a good life but will be sorely missed.

I don't actually believe in an afterlife as is portrayed in pop culture, but it is sort of a nice thought to imagine Robin Williams embracing Anton, his "House of D" co-star, and guiding him along to another level of existence. It's even nicer to imagine Anton jumping out of the way in time to just have a story to tell his fellow actors about properly parking a Jeep. I think both are just as productive thoughts, devoid of any reality.

I spent a lot of time expressing affection and appreciation for people in my workplace today.

I'm going to honor Anton by watching all his films, reading every interview I can, and pondering any insights he gave to life and the universe.

I recommend "Delivering Milo", "Hearts in Atlantis", and "House of D." for some really life-affirming films. After I see the others he's made (He made a lot of indies and not widely released films.) I'll revise my recommendations.

I recommend hugging someone out of the blue.

You're not crazy. You're delusional. There's a difference.

If you really think the craft of acting boils down to simply reciting lines, then what could possibly draw you to the IMDb site in the first--- Wait. Never mind. Obvious troll is obvious.

If this were a memorial service, you'd be the crack-addled clown with a megaphone, Tourette's, and an embarrassing need to be the center of all negative attention. You deserve to keep swimming in the sh!t that is your life, while the rest of us can shower after we make the mistake of feeding you a morsel.
