What race is every non-white person that 'looks black'?

Why are people (especially white people) obsessed with the race of any person that "looks black"? I see this same question on the message board of every actor/actresses with a light skin complexion who "looks black."

Also, note the desperation of always trying to separate this people from "black" by pointing out their mixes, as though black people MUST NEVER be associated with anything positive. Hell, Tiger Woods did not become black until he cheated on his wife. Zoe Saldana had to state her race many times in the media, and there were high hopes she would call herself LATINA to the satisfaction of the mainstream because BLACK is all so uncool!

Oh and all black actors MUST be likable to the white audience to be accepted in Hollywood, regardless that there are countless WHITE douchebag actors/actresses getting lead roles. The black actor must always warm up to the hearts of white kids, teenagers, and adults - and must always be held to their scrutiny as though the WHITE MAN has to give the black man his blessings for that black person to acomplish anything.

Human.

I get what you're saying. I think it's really a money issue for why black actors have to be liked by both black and white people. If only black people like the actor...your missing a good portion of the demographic that goes to movies e.g. losing out on a very large chunk of change.

I think Denzel did it the classiest. Loved by all and I don't recall him ever doing a love scene with a white actress.

As for why we ask the race, I think we are all guilty of that. I, myself, wondered at Zoe's race. Had nothing to do with me loving her or not....I was just curious. Fans want to know EVERYTHING about who they're fawning over.

Why is every white-looking person who has some black genes, like Rashida Jones, always referred to as "black", even though nobody would think they weren't white without being told? Why are people who look blackish, but are equally white and black, like Obama, always referred to as "black"?
