Synopsis

Frustrated with midterms, the city, and her increasingly complicated love life, 19-year old Zoe sets off on a road trip down to her unpredictable and ill-advised best friend Sam’s childhood home in Georgia, with Sam’s judgmental older roommate Spencer, Zoe’s it’s-really-complicated-so-let’s-just-say-friends-with-benefits lover Joel, and a guy named Danny who correlates his mood to his socks.

Somewhere south of the Mason-Dixon line it quickly becomes evident that the ‘fun spring break week to relax and forget’ is never going to happen, because: Sam has some seriously unresolved issues with his temperamental stepfather, Spencer seems determined not to let Zoe have any fun and Joel’s mixed signals are driving everyone insane. Not to mention Sam’s narcissistic childhood best friend Trey, who’s made it his mission to stir up some trouble and come between Zoe and Sam.

Caught up in a whirlwind of midnight car sex, day-raves in parking garages and drug dealers named Tiger, Zoe and Sam will do anything to keep pretending nothings wrong.

Other info on the project:
One person who heard about the project is bestselling author and New Canaan resident James Frey. Frey said he learned of the film when a friend sent him a link to a news story profiling the duo, and it struck a chord with him. He contacted the pair and said he'd come on board to help however he could...

Scandiffio and Schwarz will still use Frey's help, however. He's sent the script to his agents atWilliam Morris Endeavor Entertainment in Los Angeles and is going to help with casting. Once the film is done, he will ask the massive talent firm to help sell it, he said.
"We met them and they're great kids, really dedicated and enthusiastic, and we were all impressed," Frey said. "The script is also entertaining and fun, and will make a good movie."

It was a good July for the fledgling filmmakers, but they're not slowing down.

"We are running as fast forward at pre-production as we can," Scandiffio said. Schwarz added that they're on track to start shooting Aug. 5.

I like it. I see the appeal, not just for the project itself but by Bonnie being a film student herself. And it sounds like they got some good connections to help the film along so I can see it doing pretty well once it's done.

I also love that it's a comedy. Something different from what Bonnie has done in the past. I'm excited for this.
