What kind of sick evil twisted parent would name their daughter "Evan"?
I don't get it.
shareIt is not that bad of a name. At least they did not name her Wyatt.
shareHow is it not "that bad" when Evan is very clearly a boy's name. I guess it's slightly better than Steve or Jeff but for God's sakes man, have some decency.
shareEvan stated that she hates her middle name Rachel but that she included it when she was auditioning so that casting directors would not think she was a boy.
Plenty of women and girls have boy names. It's not that insane, and Evan is a nice name.
and Evan is a nice name
For a boy
Also Alex, Blake, Bobbie, Cameron, Glenn, Hayden, Kendall, Noah, Parker, Reese, and Taylor.
shareA lot of those are fairly well-established as names that can work for girls. Never heard a girl named Glenn, Hayden, Noah or Parker.
We can flip the script on this too: What about Leslie or Ashley for guys?
Ashley Stubbs.
shareJust three actresses I can think of springs to my mind... Glenn Close. Parker Posey. And Hayden Panettiere.
shareHere you go
Evan [evan] as a girls' name (also used more regularly as boys' name Evan) is a Gaelic name, and the meaning of the name Evan is "beautiful; good news". Evan is a version of Eavan (Gaelic): anglicized variant of Aoibheann. Evan is also a derivative of Evangeline (Latin, Greek): Fancy name from evangelium.
Good citation but still have to say it's an inappropriate name for a girl. Maybe if she lived in Ireland. Here in America, I can only imagine that she took an insane amount of crap for that name growing up and in school.
shareYeah I tend to agree' much the same as a scottish girl I went to junior school with called Adrian, but I have to say that with all the shtty names parents come up with these days I'd give a kid a gaelic name before something like Sunday Rose Kidman (sounds like sunday roast) or Suri Cruise (sounds like sewerage)
