Why is he not a huge leading man?

He is handsome, charismatic and excellent actor to boot yet he is relegated to horror movies.

I feel the exact same way.

He's the modern day Vincent Price.

Aren't you relieved to know you're not a golem?

Minus the personality.

Honestly I don't have anything against Wilson but he'll never be an iconic presence like Price, no matter how many horror movies he stars in.

reply

Well he did do phantom of the opera but as genesisclimber7 said, he's like vincent price. That really isn't a bad thing. People loved him. Also Christopher Lee was notorious for his cheesy horror films. It's not a bad thing to build a career on. at least, he's working.

He seems to have a solid career but there arent many 'movie stars' these days, ie those who can open a film sold on their name alone. Patrick reminds me of an old school lead from the 30s or 40s, like douglas fairbanks jr or joel mcrea, handsome and talented actors who appeared alongside the top female stars of the time. I think had he been born in that era Patrick would have been a household name.

In any case, hes always worth watching and adds value to anything he does, even the Conjuring rubbish.

Sorry. Inadvertent double post. Please read below. Thank you.

How dare you compare this nonentity to the swashbuckling Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.? Doug Fairbanks was a Movie Star! This guy is a Glad Bag, Wonder Bread of a human being. If watch anything he’s in, it’s because of the DC content or Verra Fermiglia.

reply

Erm "Verra Fermiglia"? Who the F&*K is that?!!

reply

Maybe he likes doing the character actor parts more. Not everyone wants all the attention an A lister gets.

reply

Hes got the character actor look and mindset
