Perfume

Pleasant to watch, indeed--inspiring!

Perfume is what hooked me and made me an immediate admirer of his work. (I don't know what that says about me, considering Jean-Baptiste Grenouille isn't exactly someone you'd want to know....)

He really does seem ubiquitous in the past year--multiple stage and film gigs, a TV miniseries that aired in the UK and US (not sure if elsewhere), not to mention the related photo shoots and interviews. So, it's surprising to me that not more people in the U.S. seem to know who he is.

I wonder if The Crucible will change his profile a bit? Currently, at least in America, people don't seem to register that they've seen him in anything unless I mention his role as Q in the last two Bond films. Occasionally, someone will remember Cloud Atlas. I like to tell people to start with Perfume and Criminal Justice and wait to be floored!
