A Firefly revival would be his last chance to revive his career?

If he really was fired by WB,thats not good for him. Would the move of reviving Firefly be his last chance to be big in the show buisness?

reply

I doubt it since the film flopped.

Gosh, you're right! Never occurred to me that a film I've watched so many times did poorly at the box office. I wonder if the timing was wrong - too soon? - before lots of us belatedly discovered Firefly.

Hes an asshole. I liked some of his earlier stuff but hes an entitled product of nepotism. Hate this guy now...I hope he disappears...😀

He's been around since Waterworld (yes he helped rewrite that). He'll find work again.

Yeah, I think he'll just have a "down" period again. He was big with Buffy and Angel, then Firefly and Dollhouse couldn't get off the ground, but then he got on top again with Avengers. He might never be "Avengers" big again, but few careers in Hollywood sustain for that long.

My guess is that he'll try to start up another TV series, it probably won't take (since most don't) and then he'll do some project for a streaming service, either a TV show or a film.

If that doesn't work, he'll write/direct some indie project like Much Ado About Nothing or Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

Yeah, but that's only half of it. Normally when somebody gets accused by one person and that story is full of holes, people come hopping up to defend them. "Oh, no, it wasn't really like that," and then you get a showdown between the #nodueprocess people and everybody else.

But in this case, Whedon has an ex-wife and an actor he cut from a movie for accusers and no defenders. Like, Ray Fisher is mad at Whedon (and I think Jason Momoa supported him in a tweet?), but it's weird that Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck don't have anything to say. It's weird that Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., and Scarlett Johansson haven't come forward and said something like, "We can't speak to Justice League, but Joss was awesome to work with," or even, "To be honest, the Avengers shoots were nightmares, too, so we know what Ray Fisher is talking about." Nothing. Zip.

Do you find the lack of defenders as strange as the lack of accusers?

Let the late great Firefly die in peace. It deserves that ... doesn't it.
