Who knows how it went. Was he fired for the Cyborg situation? Did he chose to leave to do another project? My theory is that he is planning a return to Marvel to make the new X-Men movie

Ray Fisher: My complaints over Joss Whedon led to his exit from The Nevers

https://twitter.com/ray8fisher/status/1331772638516142082

The Justice League actor, whose accusations that Whedon was "abusive" and "unprofessional" on set led to a Warner Bros. investigation, tweeted that Whedon's sudden exit last week "is undoubtedly a result of it." He added: "I have no intention of allowing Joss Whedon to use the old Hollywood tactic of 'exiting', 'stepping down', or 'walking away' to cover for his terrible behavior."

Can we trust Ray Fisher? I surely dont. Who knows how it went this Joss Whedon exiting The Nevers situation. I stand to my theory that he is planning to return to Marvel. But it could also be that HBO wanted to spend less money on the series for the economical crisis and he didnt want to do the series with less budget. Who knows. ^^

While I don't trust Ray Fisher, I also wouldn't be surprised by a studio firing a guy over rumours these days. It is an era of preemptive strikes and overreactions to social accusation. At best, it's a reckoning with bad people (Harvey Weinstein) who should have been brought to task for their crimes and sins years ago (in fact, never put up with in the first place). At worst, though, it's a witch hunt where the slightest breath whispering, "he victimised me...!" becomes a career-ender, a pariah-maker, and that aspect is awful and needs to stop.

I don't know what's up with Whedon - this is the first I'm hearing of it (The Nevers at all, let alone Whedon's involvement and departure from the project) - so I don't know what's going on here. Your theory is a good one, and I do hope he takes a crack at X-Men.

It's definitely strange that nobody's defending Whedon.

I seems to be relatively early days and with covid-19 may not have started filming yet. Maybe the only people currently involved are old friends and won't talk. I'm just guessing but he says he's tired and who knows - it may just be as simple as that?
