'Wokeness' is an ideology that explains the world through a fight between groups where ones are defined as 'oppressor/evil' and other ones are the 'oppressed/victims'. The groups are defined by default. This way you have 'males oppress females!', 'white oppress blacks!' and so on. It was called 'cultural marxism' because the structure is very similar to the 'rich class vs working class' from Marx, but with different ethnic groups and cultures instead of social classes. At the end of the day, it's mostly white-guilt (whites are evil! whites are nazi! and so).

It's the mainstream ideology in modern left.

Wokes are people who hyperactively press the farthest politically correct agenda they can find, and pushing the limits of political correctness as far as possible. It usually goes hand-in-hand with SJW culture, cancel culture, and call-out culture (sometimes called "call-in culture" in an attempt to be more inclusive with its own language).

I think mostly they're motivated by guilt and fear, but partially it does come from a good place of trying to be inclusive of everyone, there are just certain agents who act (usually on behalf of others...) in an overly-aggressive way to forward the agenda.

Let me guess you think the all female ghostbusters was the best movie of 2016 and Kathleen Kennedy had a right to destroy Star Wars because it was created by a man. Equality doesn't give you the right to destroy the legacy of a film franchise because it was created by a man and its predominate fan base is the male population. We have a right to exist free from the skirts who hate us.
