Watts steps out after scathing reviews of her 'achingly inept thriller'


Her new film Shut In hit theaters one week ago to scathing reviews.

But on Thursday morning, Naomi Watts brushed it off to enjoy a stroll through the streets Tribeca in NYC with a friend.


The reviews were less than satisfactory - the "thriller" received a shocking 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

New York Times movie critic Jeannette Catsoulis went as far as to call the film 'achingly inept,' though she credited Watts for doing 'what she can to sell a plot of such preposterousness that the derisory laughter..began barely 20 minutes in.'

The LA Times described the film as 'more effective as a 90-minute commercial for the L.L. Bean aesthetic than as a pseudo-psychological thriller,' referring to the array of gorgeous sweaters the actress sports in it.
