Surprised she didn't do better post Potter

Very beautiful and classy so expected her to do great things after the Harry Potter films ended. She didn't do terribly but a supporting role in Little Women, a couple of indie films and the heroine in Beauty and the Beast? Just thought she'd be a bigger star.

Of course her career is by no means over yet. Just realised Hermione is thirty! I feel old.

What she could do in the superhero genre?

Hmm. If Peter Parker was older in the MCU, I would want her to be Mary Jane. Maybe if they do a Howard the Duck movie she could play Beverley Switzler.

reply

Not really retrospectively but also kinda during the time.

its funny I thought Danielle Radcliffe would have been the weakest and her the strongest actor with the best career during Harry Potter. Turns out she was the more one note less diverse actor while Radcliffe has been very enjoyable

reply

I assumed acting was not a big priority for her and that activism and modelling (which when I type it seems an odd combination) and possibly life itself took most of her time.
Must admit I was surprised when she turned up as Meg, the oldest sister, in Little Women.

reply

She could go up for trans rights, and in direct opposition to the bringer of her fortune, J.K. Rowling.

reply

I don't believe that's true. It's certainly not how I understood her essay, though I do wonder how many bothered to read it. https://www.jkrowling.com/opinions/j-k-rowling-writes-about-her-reasons-for-speaking-out-on-sex-and-gender-issues/

reply

Eh. She made tons of money on "Potter." And, I thought that they made her character way too whiny and naggy at the beginning. Not worried about her not doing much afterwards.

reply

She's doing fine she is an icon.

reply

I'm not surprised, she's just not a very good actress.

Honestly, I think she'd be happier with her life if she left acting and did something in the real world. She's bright, she's got money, she could make a difference.

reply

Agreed, she's just not a good actress I think. But who knows. Maybe she just hasn't had the opportunity to show her range.

Daniel Radcliffe's taken some time to convince me.

253. ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER 02/25 **2**
By the end of this year, we will hear more about the beginning of the end as it pertains to this foreign born former A/A- list mostly movie actress (Emma Watson). She was never the greatest actress, and was more of a name, but she realized early on that she had enough in the bank to not have to play the Hollywood game. She got lucky as a tween/teen because the projects ("Harry Potter") she was working on, the higher ups were more interested in molesting the boys than the girls. That one project ("This Is the End") which nearly broke her was with the disgraced actor (James Franco) from an acting family and his frequent partner in crime (Seth Rogen). Along with the actress/serial rapist enabler, they made our foreign born actress miserable and did everything they could to break her and get something on her. They tried drugs and they tried sexual harassment. When she didn't break, she knew her days were numbered in acting. She got very few roles after that and was so scared of another experience like she endured that she welcomed not getting as many offers. Emma Watson/"Harry Potter"/"This Is the End"/James Franco/Seth Rogen (Emma Watson is not retiring from acting, manager says)

She had a minor role in "This Is The End". I have a hard time believing that an actor of her stature would somehow be blackballed throughout the industry for declining to partake in drug use or sexual frivolity with marginal players like Rogen and Franco.

reply

She never should have accepted Beauty and the Beast.

reply

You think it had a detrimental effect on her career?
