Son of a bitch.

Son of a goddamned bitch!

Huh?

Is that from one of his roles? Or do you just not like him?

I thought he was great in Miami Blues

reply

Yeah, its from the movie Tremors :)

reply

I'm gonna have to watch that again pretty soon. It's been a long time.

reply

You should! I've seen it several times. :)
I absolutely adore Fred Ward in that movie, he's hilarious.

reply

I will.

When I was a kid my dad would always say "God damn son of a bitch!" whenever something broke, or he hurt himself, etc. He said it a lot when he was working on our Corvair :) It makes me laugh when I think of it.

reply

That's awesome! I didn't realize how funny this movie was until I was in my late teens and I feel in love with Fred Ward and that mouth of his.

reply

He's really funny in Miami Blues, taking his teeth out all the time at inappropriate moments and making wisecracks. I especially remember the crack he makes to alec about "who knew hare krishnas had a habit of dieing when you bend their fingers back" something like that. Of course Alec had bent the hare krishnas finger back after being hassled by him at the airport. Strange, funny movie. I ended up reading Miami Blues, and then all of Willefords books.

reply

Everything he says is funny in that movie starting with his oft-repeated saga (to Val, at least) of once being caught in a stampede.

"You're gonna burn the clutch. I don't need to spend the night out here."

"Doesn't he have a home to go to?"

"God D@mn, Praise the Lord!"

reply

Totally with you. Miami Blues doesn't get enough love.

reply

As long as he hasn't died I'm o-k with it.
I liked him a lot in Remo Williams. It's a cheese-fest, but it's funny and has a lot of heart.
And I think it has Kate Mulgrew in it, and I like the ol' Cappy Janeway.

reply

They can dig like a son of a bitch.

IM COMING WITH YA MAAAA!R.I.P. Fred Ward!
