Without being "Christopher Nolan"... Does that make sense?

I feel like this director is not as groundbreaking as nolan but Dennis makes some of the most well made films

Nolan isn't groundbreaking at all. Name one cinematic innovation of his that ever broke new ground? You can't, because there's nothing there.

Introducing IMAX to Hollywood (The Dark Knight), secret actors (Interstellar), a magic trick-movie (The Prestige), multi-layered blockbuster (Inception), the concept of false-villains dominating the most of the movie and true villains coming out only in the third act (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight Rises). Is that enough?

Nolan, I love you forever!

reply

None of those are things that Nolan innovated. If you've only seen his films, I can see why you would think that. Nolan is just an overambitious filmmaker with a strong vision but a tendency to overlook details.

reply

All of those things Nolan has innovated. Because you didn't list a single film or filmmaker before him which featured that or who established a trend, I don't have a single reason to rethink that only because you say he didn't.

Nolan, I love you forever!

reply

You won't win this war with him. Once someone decides to hate Nolan, he won't listen to any of your points.

reply

Yeah, that's the sad thing about all Nolan haters...

Nolan, I love you forever!
