Please stop making films!

Gore is one of Hollywood's finest but his movies don't necessarily cater for the taste of Joe Average.

I'm actually going to agree that Gore has turned into a pretty big disappointment. I remember in 2006, Everyone was praising him as one of the great modern directors. Then Dead Man's Chest came out, and the hype started to fade. Then At World's end came out, and it was all downhill from there.


It's too bad, too. He gave us an excellent film with the first Pirates movie.

For me, the pinnacle of his work was The Ring, one of the best horror films of the 2000s. But I didn't much like anything he did after that, aside from maybe The Weather Man. The Lone Ranger was a great-looking film, but was easily one of the worst of the summer of 2013.

The way I see it Verbinski is a great visual artist but when it comes to picking scripts he's hit and miss, the depth in his films usually stem from the scripts themselves, not so much from his direction.

I have an unbelievably long ignore list.

Verbinski has made one of the most original animated films ever, Rango, one of the best horror films in many years, The Ring, and one of the most successful franchises ever, The Pirates of.. series. Sure, the quality of the last Pirates went downhill, and Lone Ranger was a disaster, but his hits definitely outweighs his misses, so... Stop making ridiculous threads.
