Alexa PenaVega???

I know that she and her new husband changed their last names to PenaVega (http://www.justjared.com/2014/01/05/alexa-vega-carlos-pena-both-change -last-name-to-penavega/), but somebody at IMDb sure jumped on that quick! Do we really need to change her name here? She's still commonly known as Alexa Vega. Can't we wait until she starts getting credited under her new name?

The two names being merged together like that is awful.

Congrats on the marriage and all the best wishes, but she will still be Alexa Vega to me. I just know her that way, have her in my fav actors database in that form and to make it simpler, she is Alexa Vega. But she can, of course, sign herself with a different last name. As long as she is happy.

I don't see why she cant just be Alexa PenaVega during her personal life and Alexa Vega can continue to be her stage name. Changing it this far into her career seems unwise.

Imdb, Please change it back to Vega!

what a weird combination. Pena Vega would make more sense.

It's the Latino tradition to put the two names together without any separator. Cf. former L.A. mayor Antonio Villaraigosa (Villar + Raigosa).

reply

That's a bad tradition, because after a few generations you will have huge long names that won't fit when you are trying to fill out a form. They should have went with Pega for Vena.
