Poor fit on Criminal Minds

She is awkward and it's not getting any better. I get now why she is there since they lost the hunky Shemar. But, they already had a genius Dr in Spencer Reed and didn't need another one. Her role seems stiff and doesn't flow with the show. It always seems like Spencer's lines got cut to give them to her. Spencer is way too popular to be taking a back seat. It's poor writing and it's not her fault that the role doesn't the fit the show properly. They are giving her way too much screen time and scenes for a new character. It's all just so forced. Have to wonder if her friendship with Julie Chen, who is married to the head of CBS, is the reason for the over exposure of this role. Criminal Minds is headed for a crash if they keep losing key characters and don't start writing better for the ones that are left.

I just wanted to say that I agree with you. I don't like her character and I also feel that she is overshadowing my favorite character Spencer. She may be trying to earn more money now that she is getting divorced. With no kids and a good career, she wouldn't be eligible for spousal support.

I totally agree. I tried to like her but she just doest fit in that well with the team. It almost seems like she is just there and has no substance. She is the first character since Seaver that I just couldn't warm up to.

I agree with all comments and especially with overshadowing Spencer. Unfortunately, they have hired her to appear full time. I'm so disappointed.

I hate to say this, but I have a feeling that her connection to Julie Chen and Les Moonves is the reason she got this job and she got promoted to series regular. I really tried to like her character but I just don't.
