You're not the only one! i though he was English too, I guess this is one person we can applaud for getting the accent right.

I am less amazed that he can do credible English accent when acting than he doesn't have a thick southern one when he isn't, considering he is from Texas.

Lol, I lived the first 35 years of my life in Corpus Christi & Houston, TX. I now live in KY and everyone I talk to thinks that I'm from Detroit, Chicago, New Jersey, New York and I've even sometimes gotten people guessing Canada. So while I was just as surprised to find out that Tudyk was born & raised in my home state, the whole southern accent thing can be extremely misleading.

Yeah, just accents in general.

People tell me I have a Chicago accent and I spent my whole life in Northern California.

Everybody talks differently and there is no definitive [Fill in the blank] accent.

And even though I've never been to any southern states, I love the word "y'all." How else do you address a bunch of people directly, without saying something possibly offensive like "you people" or "you guys."
Then you hear, "what do you mean, 'you people'?!"

But back to Alan, I thought he was British too. Not sure why, definitely wouldn't have guest Texas born.
