Tell me what part of "a bump stock is a machine gun" you do not understand. How do you interpret the above section of the CFR?
Do you think Trump had a hard time understanding what it meant? This was after all, how Trump got the ATF to make bump stocks illegal. This also ensured that no law abiding American would compensated for their loss.
This is one of the ways that Trump grabbed Americans by the pussy.

That is the justification for classifying them as machine guns. No where does it say the bump stock has to be attached.
The CFR actually says "bump stocks are machineguns". No amount of fractured logic, on your part, is going to make it say anything different.
Your second paragraph states the existing law prior to the amendment of 27CFR. That law is referring to any other parts, besides bump stocks, that can be used to make a machine gun. You can read that part here; https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/26/5845

Where you say "and" would actually mean "also".
Remember, Trump actually believed he banned bump stocks and nothing else. Only the bump stock was required to be surrendered or destroyed.

You misinterpreted because you didn’t read the rest of the CFR and because you didn’t have the common sense to realize that any parts of a document can be misworded.
Everyone knows that a “bump stock” is nothing more than a “part” or an “accessory”.
Once again, the ATF/DOJ deliberately misinterpreted in order to “ban” just the “bump stocks” and they passed it to RINO advisors, DJT was only required to sign off, period.
