T-rump tries to call Melania "Our own Jackie O" and fails miserably
Ahhh...if it's a day which ends in 'Y', T-rump is going to embarass the nation.
Today, among other things, T-rump tried desperately to make his third wife the equivalent to our beloved iconic First Lady, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (1960-63). It didn't exactly go down as planned.
While defending his decision to paint the new Air Force One aircraft red, white and blue instead of the baby blue color Jackie O chose in the 1960s, he made the equivalency to the two women.
"It was Jackie O and that's good. But we have our own Jackie O today, it's called Melania," the idiot said in a phone interview with 'Fox & Friends'. "Melania. We'll call it Melania T, OK?"
Americans were qucik to point out a number of flaws in his assessment of the two.
First and foremost, Jackie was lovingly known as "Jackie Kennedy" in the White House, not 'Jackie O'. She took the nickname of 'Jackie O' when she married Onassis in the mid-70s, more than a decade after leaving the White House. Typical T-rump to rewrite history.
Second, Jackie Kennedy came from a very different pedigree than Melania, and it shows.
Said one Twitter user:
"Jackie O was the epitome of grace & beauty. She overcame a plethora of hardships & heartaches, with poise and elegance. She was an incredible First Lady & an even more marvelous woman. She balanced passions + duties, and did so with class."
A far cry from Melania.
Still, another Twitter user called out T-rump for his reference to his third wife.
"First. Melania couldn't be Jackie O' if she received a personality transplant. Second, Trump's statement betrays his objectification. He said, 'it's Melania, Melania Trump' IT'S, not SHE's. If he were talking about a golf champion, it's makes sense, but not in this context."
