Socialists, leftists and 21st Century D'rats are not only naive, but a REAL threat to our great nation.

Explaining American Leftists: Part I

As I watch a great number of my fellow Americans and virtually all of the mainstream media descend further and further into irrational and immoral hysteria — regularly calling the president of the United States and all of his supporters Nazis, white supremacists and the like; harassing Republicans where they eat, shop and live; ending family ties and lifelong friendships with people who support the president; declaring their opposition to Trump and the Republican Party the “Resistance,” as if they were American reincarnations of the French who fought real Nazis in World War II; and so on — I ask myself: What is going on? How does one explain them?

Here are some answers:

1. Naivete

Many Americans are naive, about life, about good and evil, and about America. They don’t realize how rare America is and how good they have it. This mass naivete was vividly expressed by the reaction of tens of thousands of mostly white middle-class Americans to then-candidate Barack Obama in 2008, when he was campaigning in Columbia, Missouri. Obama announced, “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”

I frequently play the recording of Obama’s statement on my radio show not only to explain a basic difference between right and left — the left believes America needs to be fundamentally transformed, while the right thinks America needs to be incrementally improved — but also for people to hear the crowd’s reaction.

Very few contemporary American recordings are as depressing as the ecstatic and prolonged cheering the crowd gave that terrible promise from Obama. I believe it is not an exaggeration to say that had he announced a cure for cancer, the cheering could not have been louder and probably would not have been longer.

Why would middle-class Americans — people who have more affluence, more opportunity, better health, better health care and more liberty than almost anyone alive in the world today, and certainly than anyone who ever lived — thunderously applaud a call to fundamentally transform their decent country?

One answer — one of many, as we will see — is naivete.

Blah blah blah basic projection.

Prager is a proven propaganda artist.

reply

Rethugs are drinking an awful lot of Kool-Aid these days. Careful - you might drown in it.

reply

Trump is the real threat!!! He's on the war path.

reply

LMAO Dennis Prager. Can't tell if the OP is being sarcastic or serious. Could go either way. Prager makes propaganda videos about himself that would make Kim Jong jealous.

2. Boredom

Boredom, at least in our time, is the most overlooked source of evil. In the past, before people went to college and abandoned religion — the two greatest reasons there is so much moral idiocy in our time — people knew how dangerous boredom was. “Idle hands are the devil’s workshop” was a commonly used aphorism that wouldn’t even make sense to most young people today.

By bored I am not referring to a lack of things to do. There is more opportunity to do and experience things today than ever before. By bored I mean a deep boredom of the soul, what the French call “ennui.” This is the boredom that emanates from lack of purpose and a yearning for excitement.

The combination of affluence and secularism produces boredom as surely as the combination of hydrogen and oxygen produces water. Without affluence, people have a built-in purpose: obtaining food and shelter, supporting oneself and one’s family, etc. And religion, with or without affluence, likewise has always provided people with meaning. Without religion, therefore, purpose is often lost. Add to that the number of people who are not married and do not have children (also a result of the combination of affluence and secularism) and you remove another universal source of meaning.

A disproportionate percentage of those on the left (not traditional liberals) do not lack for material needs, have no religion and are single and/or childless. Those left-wing screamers you see in restaurants, the left-wing mobs on campus, the left-wing “antifa” thugs and the left-wing Black Lives Matter demonstrators who close down bridges and highways do not generally consist of married people with children who attended church the previous Sunday.

These people find this lack of purpose assuaged by leftism. It provides meaning and excitement, a very heady combination.

These are a few explanations. In Part II (Dennis) will offer others.

reply

Exactly. Propaganda. No facts in there, just his feelings. Thought the right hated that. Oh well.

reply

Thank you for posting this hilarious crap, its real entertainment.

reply

"Without religion, therefore, purpose is often lost"

LOL yes Prager, these lefties promoting ethics and fighting for humanism and speaking out against hatred... they lack purpose!

Lol he's actually just flat out lying in order to spread his meaningless hatred, while FANTASIZING that his opponents are godless.

This is not a political piece, its TRASHY CULTURE WAR BULLSHIT.

reply

He's assuming antifa people have no kids or are married. He's assuming that you need religion to make your life have a purpose. That's fine if his religion gives him a purpose in life, but that doesn't mean we all need to follow his religion to have a purpose.

And what about the slavery in the past in the U.S.? Many people owned slaves and still went to church on Sundays and had families. So, yay? lol

reply

I often wonder what its like to be in the heads of people like this.

Maybe he doesnt even fully believe this crap, who knows. He could even just be a faker making a buck on culture warriors.

reply

His writing is for conservatives who want their beliefs reinforced. It's not meant to "change the minds of the leftist."

lol look at this video about himself:

Kim Jong would be proud.

reply

Yeah but just imagine the temptation to sell reassuring BS to people like that.

Not only are you making good money, but you'd actually be harming conservatives by almost radicalizing them, which poisons them and brings their hate to the surface for all to see.

reply

"We're under attack from leftist indoctrination! Buy my books and listen to me indoctrinate you and you'll be OK!" lol

reply

Don't forget that this current generation has never been truly part of a major war that affected every part of American life. They never had to experience what it was like to go through WWII or the Cold War. They didn't have to fight to keep their country safe, and have so many machines these days to do the thinking for them. Plus, an entire generation has grown up since 9/11, so they don't know what it's like to feel scared for America's safety. It's pathetic, really. They have nothing real out there in this world to keep their attention, so their minds wander and they literally become rebels without a cause, fighting imaginary threats to their world order to try and make some purpose out of their empty lives.

reply

Excellent point.

Just look at the replies from the snowflakes on here.

All they have is the constant hatred for traditional values and the need to silence any and all perspective that defends those values.

They constantly point and accuse others as being haters, bigots and racists when in reality they are the ones who are actually behaving as such.

They prefer to attack the person (again, see the posts above) rather than the message. It’s because there is nothing about the message they can legitimately attack since it has merit.

reply

Yeah, you should hear how pathetic they've become. A few days ago, we didn't have much to do for my EKG class (I'm studying to become a Clinical Medical Assistant with extra skills), and our class conversation wandered into talk about the You-Picks we have around town. (I live in an agrarian community that has lots of orchards). I commented how at the cherry orchards, there were a lot of Asians and Middle-Easterners, and how they just LOVED their cherries. Then I heard one of my classmates mutter behind me "racist." I wasn't even saying anything insulting about them! I was making an honest observation and showing how surprised I was that they liked cherries so much.

Apparently these F-ing snowflakes have become SO sensitive about PC, that you can't even use the PC-safe description of people's ethnicity anymore when talking about something positive. I HATE it when they change the rules of this disgusting PC, restriction of speech game! I would call THEM racist for only listening to shitty music made by black, drug-sucking thugs, instead of getting some taste and listening to nice music for a change. But of course, I said nothing, since that's how the F-ing game is played by these liberal losers.

reply

Just a little tidbit from that "non-racist" Kingswood.

Interesting...we've finally gotten to the real reason you hate President Trump...not enough token wookies in his administration. Welcome to the REAL world snowflake...where "whitey" IS actually the best choice for the job.

According to Kingswood not only are black people in an administration "token wookies" but he believes white people are better for the job.

And this is the guy that praises you every single time you post. But I'm sure you will figure out some way to defend him while still claiming you have no racist feelings whatsoever.

reply

People like Richard Spencer call for their "safe space ethno-state" to be away from the other races, they don't get called out as snowflakes. For God's sake, Hitler tried to make the whole world into his safe space from anyone non-aryan. These people are the real snowflakes.

Responding to someone's points is part of debate, not hatred and trying to silence someone else's views. Just because we don't agree with Prager doesn't mean we think he should be silenced. I already said it's fine if Prager needs his religion to have a purpose in life, but that doesn't mean we all need to follow his religion to have a purpose. There's conservatives out there who don't agree with Prager, either.

If you're offended by this, doesn't that make you a snowflake?

You better call the police and report this.

Explaining the Left: Part II

The governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, did Americans a favor last week. He provided that which is most indispensable to understanding anything: clarity.

“America … was never that great,” he announced.

In one sentence, the governor revealed the left’s true view of America.

This is rare — because leftists are masters at hiding what they really believe.

For example, the left’s low regard for nonwhites is well-hidden under a mountain of “anti-racist” rhetoric. But people who consistently advocate lowering standards for blacks obviously do not think highly of blacks, and people who believe in separate black dorms and separate black graduation ceremonies obviously believe in a pillar of racism: racial segregation.

Another generally denied — if not hidden — left-wing belief is contempt for America. On a daily basis, the left describes America as xenophobic, misogynistic, imperialist, greedy and homophobic. And that’s on a slow day at The New York Times, MSNBC or your local university. Just last week, a New York Times column added “barbaric” to the left’s view of America.

But for some reason, the average American does not see all this as proof of the left’s contempt for America.

So, we have to rely on the occasional unguarded and unambiguous statement to know what the left really thinks.

Michelle Obama provided such a statement when, as her husband began racking up victories in early-voting states in the 2008 primary season, she proclaimed, “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country.”

Hillary Clinton provided her example during the 2016 election when she described half of her fellow Americans as “deplorables.”

Then-President Barack Obama provided his example in 2015 when he spoke about racism being “part of our DNA.”
