Robert Mueller Report is DONE

Robert Mueller is done.

After a 22-month investigation, charges against 37 defendants, seven guilty pleas and one conviction at trial, the Justice Department announced Friday that the special counsel's office has wrapped up its probe into Russian election interference, possible Trump campaign collusion with Moscow and obstruction of justice.

The Justice Department informed Congress in a brief letter that Mueller has submitted a confidential report to Attorney General William Barr detailing the decisions his team made to prosecute or not prosecute those who were investigated.

Barr said he may provide Congress with "the special counsel's principal conclusions as soon as this weekend."

A Justice Department official described the report as "comprehensive."

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said the White House has not seen Mueller's findings.

"The next steps are up to Attorney General Barr, and we look forward to the process taking its course. The White House has not received or been briefed on the Special Counsel's report," Sanders said in a statement.

The completion of the special counsel's investigation marks the end of one of the most dramatic chapters in Donald Trump's presidency, one that led to numerous criminal charges against and guilty pleas by some of his closest associates. The conclusion of the investigation, however, opens a new chapter into the fallout from the report and a potentially fraught political battle over the extent to which its contents are made public.

It's too soon to say what Mueller's report will ultimately mean for the President, but surviving the investigation without being subpoenaed for a sit down interview with the special counsel's team is a significant victory for Trump and his legal team.

It's also not clear what Mueller uncovered about Trump's involvement or advance knowledge, if any, of WikiLeaks release of damaging information about Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. The special counsel's findings on the question of obstruction of justice are also unknown, but Trump's allies will likely argue anything short of a criminal indictment proves the President did nothing wrong.

The fight to make Mueller's report public could be fierce and possibly spark a court battle between Congress and the executive branch. Key House Democrats have said that the full report that Mueller submitted to Barr should be made public, and they intend to subpoena for the document -- and Mueller's underlying evidence -- if it is not handed over to Congress. White House lawyers, meanwhile, expect to have an opportunity to review whatever Barr intends to submit to Congress and the public.

Mueller did not speak publicly during his nearly two-year investigation into Trump and his team. Instead, his prosecutors largely used indictments and court filings to illustrate their sweeping investigation. To announce charges against Russian operatives on two separate occasions in 2018, Mueller relied on Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller in 2017 and oversaw much of his work.

Robert Mueller, who was appointed on May 17, 2017 has been on the job for 675 days.

Since then:
Mueller has brought criminal charges against 34 people and 3 companies. Five people have been sentenced to prison so far.

Those charged include six Trump associates (Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, Michael Flynn, Michael Cohen, Roger Stone and George Papadopoulos).

It also includes 26 Russians and 3 Russian companies.

Trump has tweeted “witch hunt” about the Russia investigation more than 170 times.

-Submitted to AG Barr for review
-Barr to advise conclusions as soon as this weekend.
-Dems call for public release, will subpoena if necessary.
-No new indictments to be made.
-Mueller and a small contingent staff will remain in place close up the office for the time being.
-The right will start collecting liberal tears (well, the memes will anyway).
-Do note that the House and SDNY (Southern District of New York) court still have investigations on-going against Trump.

All said and done, Trump will finish his 1st term as predicted and no impeachment will succeed.

*Sigh*

In other words, we'll continue pushing on this "Is Trump guilty or not?" crusade for several more years to come, giving the idiot a chance to serve a second term.

Can't say I'm surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised.

I guess we'd better buckle up for another 4 years of the orange cretin. *Sigh*...

"In other words, we'll continue pushing on this "Is Trump guilty or not?" "

Not if the report is publically released....

It'll be released, that I have no doubt. Dems will subpoena Barr if he doesn't release all of it but I have no idea if Trump can stop that or if his lawyers get their grubby hands on it first.

I think most of the allegations for Trump collusion has passed. Since the other investigations are related more with his business dealings of the past and present, much of it isn't what you would call impeachment worthy just shady as fuck. In fact, I think impeachment is more or less over at this point after the comments made by Pelosi. Trump and his team of lawyers will somehow defend whatever investigations come up with the House/SDNY findings.

Dems better smarten up, I mean really smarten up if they want to stop Trump from a 2nd term, if Trump voters don't care about the House/SDNY findings that is. He's banking on the electoral college again to crush the popular vote so he'll focus on key states.

Gallop poll in 2017 has found 31% of Americans identified as Democrat, 24% identified as Republican, and 42% as Independent. I wonder why no 3rd party ever wins when there are more independents than the other 2.

Yeah, I know. Their first step is to run with Biden or Bernie. Not Warren or anyone else. If they don't run Biden or Bernie, I'm going to immediately resign myself to another four years of the orange child. I see NO scenario where they with with anyone BUT Biden and Bernie.

I agree--dems really need to smarten up here. Trump may be a psycho but he's a psycho who already won one term and still has strong backing from his base even now. Many of them have already stated they don't care about his money crimes.

That means his base will (predictably) be 100% unfazed by ANYTHING that comes out of the Mueller report or anywhere else.

I tell you...Trump may be a buffoon but he's also lucky as all fck. He just keeps surviving and surviving every onslaught thrown against him. He eats worse than a teenager but somehow lives on without an issue. He cons worse than Nixon but somehow keeps on remaining unimpeached and a free man. I find that irritating. Trump is neither a good person nor a good leader. I've ALWAYS been on the fence regarding Russian collusion but I have ALWAYS believed he's guilty of SOMETHING to do with money. Still do. Innocent people don't react the way he has. Trump was never worried about Russian collusion coming out--he's worried about the MONEY matters coming out. Those WILL peg Trump. Maybe not as a president but, when he's a private citizen, New York may very well come after him.

Regardless, though...I find this depressing. I fundamentally hate the man. He's a bully. He's an immoral as well as amoral person. Russian collusion? Nah...I always felt that was going too far. But I DO believe Putin wanted him as president and I DO believe there is dirty money there...just nothing substantial enough to prove and impeach..

What a shame, really. To see such blatant evil in a single man go unchecked, unpunished and praised.

I guess the investigation was becoming a very unpopular liability for Democrats in 2020. The foreign agent who wrote that pissgate dossier admitted he got it all from a random blogpost.

Christopher Steele? Care to link this source of the so-called blog post? Both sides paid Fusion GPS for opposition research against one another.

I also found this from Washington Post but I am not paying to read the article so I couldn't view it.
