Mueller Report

What we call the "Trump-Russia" investigation is a web of criminal, counterintelligence, and Congressional investigations that intersect with the work of the Special Counsel's Office.

So there are three key "C"-words here—"Criminal," "Counterintelligence," and "Congressional."

Special Counsel Mueller is part of the "Criminal" investigation; Mueller's work *intersects* with the "Counterintelligence" investigation, and his work feeds into and draws from the Congressional investigation.

And here's the key: all three of these investigations are ongoing.

Pay no attention to the victory dances. On any side. There's still a LOT of investigations going on.

The Southern District of New York will review all the financial shenanigans with Trump Foundation, Trump Organization & Trump's Dumps & *THAT* is the investigation I'm most looking forward to

Are you disparaging all the women that he has slept with Past and Present? Scratch the Present, I don't think any "Happy Endings" are happening for President Agent Orange.

Not sure that any of the personal stuff about Trump, the slimy stuff, will ever come out unless Melania & Marla write their tell-alls.

The RNC hasn't really acknowledged that 2 of the people who they hired to be Finance Chairs of the GOP are either indicted or going to jail.

Broidy & Cohen paid off women, a lot of women. They didn't even have to pay hush money to the National Enquirer - but their files are deep and all it's going to take is a clever FOIA request.

I'm waiting for Trump to get caught kicking a dog before all his supporters wake up to see that he's a walking piece of human excrement & a whiney bloated mango Mussolini baby.

Dear Chairman Graham, Chairman Nadler, Ranking Member Feinstein, and Ranking Member Collins:

I write to notify you pursuant to 28 C.F.R. § 600.9 (a)(3) that Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III has concluded his investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election and related matters. In addition to this notification, the Special Counsel regulations require that I provide you with “a description and explanation of instances (if any) in which the Attorney General” or acting Attorney General “concluded that a proposed action by a Special Counsel was so inappropriate or unwarranted under established Departmental practices that it should not be pursued.” 28 C.F.R. § 600.9 (a)(3). There were no such instances during the Special Counsel’s investigation.

The Special Counsel has submitted to me today a “confidential report explaining the prosecution or declination decisions” he has reached, as required by 28 C.F.R § 600.8(c). I am reviewing the report and anticipate that I may be in a position to advise you of the Special Counsel’s principal conclusions as soon as this weekend.

Separately, I intend to consult with Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein and Special Counsel Mueller to determine what other information from the report can be released to Congress and the public consistent with the law, including the Special Counsel regulations, and the Department’s long-standing practices and policies. I remain committed to as much transparency as possible, and I will keep you informed as to the status of my review.

Finally, the Special Counsel regulations provide that “the Attorney General may determine that public release of” this notification “would be in the public interest.” 28 C.F.R. § 600.9(c). I have so determined, and I will disclose this letter to the public after delivering it to you.

Sincerely,

William P. Barr

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/dozens-sealed-criminal-indictments-dc-docket-mueller/story?id=59249030
____________________

Nearly three dozen sealed criminal indictments have been added to the federal court docket in Washington, D.C. since the start of 2018.

Sealed criminal court files are assigned a case number, but do not indicate the identity of the parties or the nature of the charges, so it is impossible for the public to discern what those sealed cases contain.

But several legal experts told ABC News the number of sealed cases awaiting action right now is unusual. Fourteen were added to the docket since late August alone, a review by ABC News has found, just as the midterm elections were drawing near and longstanding Justice Department policy precluded prosecutors from taking any public action that could appear to be aimed at influencing political outcomes.

And the inadvertent discovery on Thursday night of what appear to be secret charges pending against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has drawn fresh attention to the mystery. Legal experts told ABC News that the sealed cases could be tied to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election and possibly part of a quiet effort to protect his investigation from any premature effort to shut it down.

Mueller has used a sealed indictment before. The case against unpaid Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos remained a secret for three months before charges of lying to investigators were eventually made public in October 2017. Only then, after Mueller's team secured a cooperation agreement, did the public learn the one-time foreign policy advisor would be the first from Trump’s campaign to plead guilty in the probe.

Here's the first lawsuit filed seeking the public release of Mueller's report

https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/mueller-submits-russia-report/index.html

The Electronic Privacy Information Center has sued the Department of Justice to release special counsel Robert Mueller's final report to Attorney General William Barr regarding the prosecutorial decisions in his investigation— and other nonpublic records from the investigation.

The new Freedom of Information Act lawsuit came less than two hours after the Justice Department announced the Mueller investigation’s wrapped up Friday night.

The group also points out to the court a number of other documents Mueller was to prepare and transmit to the attorney general during his tenure.

“The public has a right to know the full scope of Russian interference in the 2016 United States presidential election and whether the President of the United States played any role in such interference,” the government transparency advocacy group wrote in the lawsuit in DC federal court.

“The public also has a right to know whether the President unlawfully obstructed any investigation into Russian election interference or related matters. The requested records are vital to the public’s understanding of these issues and to the integrity of the political system of the United States.”

TRUMP 2020

reply

That's the one most likely to result in Trump going to jail. It's almost certain that he lied about his net worth in loan applications.

reply

I find it interesting that no one has noticed or cares that "ONLY" Republicans are being investigated.

reply

That's because it's a Republican administration in the White House. When Democrats control the executive branch they get to be investigated by Republicans. This is not unusual.

reply

Thats a good point but the Dems have gone overboard in investigating everyone Trump has spoken to. I am sure there is more than enough democrats that can be investigated as well.

reply

Its just your opinion that they've gone overboard. Factually speaking they've gotten over a dozen indictments including Paul Manafort who is about to serve time and single handedly pay for the investigation by forfeiting his illegal assets.

Its only gone overboard if you don't want criminals to be caught.

reply

So you are saying there is not one democrat engaging in criminal activities in all of North America?

reply

It didn't seem to matter when Republicans went 'overboard' when investigating Benghazi seeing as how they came up with zero indictments.

Many people see this administration as corrupt want to see it investigated. That was a huge reason cited for the overwhelming midterm turnout that resulted in the lopsided Dem victory in the House. The Republicans weren't seen as conducting rigorous oversight of this administration.

reply

The Republicans only investigated other politicians, they didn't go after lawyers, friends and dog walkers.

There is always a flip flop in the House and Senate after a new President is elected.

Why would the Rep investigate themselves, the Dems didn't investigate themselves after Obama was elected.

There will always be people that don't like the President. Its nothing new.

reply

That's why there will always be investigations of the administration in power by the opposing party. Like you said, it's nothing new.

I'm not aware that Democrats are going after lawyers, friends, and dog walkers. Where did you see this?

reply

They investigated people close to Hillary during the Benghazi attack and people associated with her email server. They didn't find any illegal activity for any of them. Yet Trumpers still want her locked up. We already have Trump for tax fraud, campaign finance fraud, and violations of the emoluments clause. Yet Pelosi herself is saying we shouldn't focus on impeachment because she knows its an unreachable goal considering the current state of the republican party.

reply

People close to Hillary? Really? No they didn't. They never investigated her lawyers, friends, dog walkers, aides, etc. Anyone that Trump has talked to is being investigated. Are saying there is not one democrat engaging in criminal activities in all of North America?

The State Department failed to protect U.S. diplomats in Libya: Clinton and the administration should have realized and addressed risks. (The Democrats' version of the report acknowledges "security measures in Benghazi were woefully inadequate").
The CIA misread how dangerous Libya was in midst of a revolution after overthrowing Khaddafi a year earlier.
The Defense Department failed to rescue Americans: U.S. military forces did not reach Benghazi until mid-afternoon the day after the initial attack on the compound. "No U.S. military asset was ever deployed to Benghazi despite the order of the Secretary of Defense at 7 o'clock that night," Gowdy said.
The Administration subverted investigation through what Gowdy described as "intentional", "coordinated", and "shameful" stonewalling. Clinton deleted numerous emails on the private server she was using for official business, which the report says "makes it impossible to ever represent to those killed in Benghazi that the record is whole."
A Clinton aide influenced the State Department's review: Cheryl Mills, Clinton's former chief of staff has said she offered suggestions on drafts.[74]
Americans were transported to Benghazi airport by Khaddafi loyalists, the same group the U.S. had sought to oust earlier. Stated the report: "Some of the very individuals the United States had helped remove from power during the Libyan revolution were the only Libyans that came to the assistance of the United States on the night of the Benghazi attack."
A White House meeting during the attack generated a list of 10 action items, half of which related to an anti-Muslim YouTube video that sparked protests at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo.[75]

This is Comeys response to the investigation:

Comey stated that there was "evidence of mishandling" of classified information and that he believed that Clinton was "extremely careless; I think she was negligent." He defended the FBI's recommendation against bringing charges because it "... would have been unfair and virtually unprecedented .

But we all know now that Comey is a Democrat as we have learned after he was fired by Trump. Interesting?

Here is a quote from Comey:

"Americans should “use every breath we have” to vote Trump out of office in 2020, he said."

reply

They talked to people close to Hillary that were involved with the email server and the Benghazi attack. For example they subpoena'd her assistant's phone a week before the election. That was the event that got Trump cheering for James Comey and his letter.

And you are correct that Hillary mishandled classified information. However mishandling classified information is not illegal so long as it only reaches people that are allowed to see it. Hillary was also careless with her mobile device password protection but that too is not illegal unless she was intentionally trying to leak information.

And when you think about it the accidental stuff that she did wrong is pretty much par for the course with this administration. Kushner had had security clearance issues as well as his own mishandling of classified information issues. But nobody is really focusing on that because its accidental. We want the intentional stuff. And thats where Trump's campaign steps in the mud.

It may not be Trump himself but when he surrounds himself with people who are scamming to help him become president you know he's either in on it or he's a massive idiot who doesn't deserve to win another term on sheer stupidity alone.

But no matter what his campaign was involved in I am convinced it is better to focus on voting him out in 2020 than trying to push him out. I've said that from the beginning.

reply

People died at Benghazi, an ambassador died for the first time in decades. Crooked Hillary got off because of her powerful connections. She is dangerous

reply

I'd love to see your evidence that she "got off because of her powerful connections". That sounds like conspiratorial gibberish that Alex Jones would say without proof.

reply

House Republicans on the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform Committees did investigate Democrats again, they investigated (relitigated....) the previously conducted FBI and DoJ investigations of Hillary Clinton's emails, they subpoenaed Loretta Lynch and James Comey and closed the investigation after finding nothing (again).

Republicans controlled the House and Senate and Presidency for two years, nothing prevented them from appointing a Special Counsel to investigate Hillary Clinton or any other Democrats.
