Love him or Hate him how has he affected your daily life?

So far my life is pretty much the same, maybe pay 1k less tax than before.

reply

Well, I'll say I do fear publicly being conservative, because the left has decided it's ok to be rude, violent and fascist towards conservatives because they didn't like that they lost the election to Donald Trump. There's that. I also like paying less taxes, and not getting fined for not participating in Obama Care.

reply

I've been afraid of telling anyone that I voted for Trump too. Much as I'd love one of the red hats, I don't want to get attacked for wearing one in public.

Sometimes I feel like a spy, playing a part when hanging out with my friends (many of which are either liberal, or unknown in affiliation) and it's sad that the only way I can find actual Trump supporters is either online, or the rare chance others are brave enough to mention it publicly. Otherwise, I have to be a chameleon.

So what you're telling the world is :

You voted for T-rump, and he has affected your daily life by robbing you of your sense of self-worth, deprived you of your identity, makes you feel like a 'spy' in your own country, live like a 'chameleon' with your friends, and has you sorting out other T-rump supporters anonymously on-line, as you're not 'brave enough' to be who you are in public. You can't even buy a 'hat' you would love to wear, because you are 'afraid' to wear it in public. That is the affect T-rump has had in you daily life.

That's living in America to you ????????

That's living under a dictatorship, as history has proven. You're exhibit A on how T-rump has destroyed this nation.

Thank God, I (and millions of other Americans throughout history) have been proud of the political choices made in my life, and have never been robbed of my self-worth or dignity due to anyone I've elected to any Office. I've never had to be a 'chameleon', never had to live like a 'spy' in my home country, and never to be afraid of saying who I stand by and support. I wear the apparel I choose, and proud to stand by my choices. THAT'S living in America, in a democracy.

What sad, pathetic lives T-rump supporters live.

reply

Doggie, I'd say that kind of crushing persecution you describe isnt under the jackboot of Trumps militia , but of all the anti Trump army.

It's you and your friends who are making Amerigirl scared to admit her political views , lest you anti Trump militants unleash a verbal tongue lashing and banish her from the social circle.

You've taken her right to free speach away. Isnt that one of your things in that constition?

reply

You give too much credit to everyone in the world, except Amerigirl herself.

No one is capable of making another person 'scared' to admit their political views, or anything else in life. Just like no one can make someone 'feel guilty', 'feel bad', 'feel sad', 'feel happy'. A person owns their emotion, and how they react to situations in life. Her 'feeling scared' is hers and hers alone - don't take that away from her, too.

T-rump has set up the situation for her, and this is her reaction to it.

My personal emotion as a reaction to reading this: Very sad.

reply

No one should ever feel ashamed of their election choice. If he's what you want then you shouldn't feel fear. The fact that you do is a sad testament to what our country has become.

On that SAME token, legal immigrants and anyone with brown skin shouldn't have to feel fear either. Muslim woman having their hijabs torn from their heads, for example.

There is blame on both sides.

Exactly what I'm saying to mark above.

Her emotion is 'feeling fear' which is a reaction to T-rump's America, and T-rump.

reply

Too many scare tactics out there. And yes--Trump has always led with fear. So many scare tactics. So many "dem evil Mexicans" scare tactics.

reply

Exactly! And if his 'scare tactics' work on his supporters, and they respond by feeling fear and living like a spy - then that's on them. Not liberals.

reply

During those caravan incidents, the Trumpers were acting like we were being invaded. It was like that Helms Deep scene from The Lord of the Rings. Some of them were even saying: "Shoot them all down before they reach the border!" and "Our country is under attack!".

Psychos.

reply

We liberals and Republican never-T-rumpers never fell for that. We weren't scared, nor do we resort to living like 'a spy' in our own country. We don't resort to being a 'chameleon' in front of our friends, nor do we fear buying any apparel we choose to wear.

What a life those poor T-rumpers are locked into these days. But I can't feel too bad for them - it's their own choosing.

reply

The fact that you're afraid is part of WHY you support him. No fault of your own, but the GOP going back to GWB lived off of telling you that someone else is responsible for every bad thing, those people do NOT look like you and only THEY can protect you from the bad people. It's been their bread and butter. Ex-Mayor and Ex Sane Person Rudy Gulliani ran a Presidential platform based on that.

It's not your fault. It's what they sold us and some of us need to blame others.

reply

Well said.

And, because of that, we have all the "But Hillary! But Obama!" deflections. It gets old being called a "liberal" every damn argument I have about Trump. I've never been liberal and if that's the sum of a Trumper's argument with me then it shows a lack of ground for them to stand on.

reply

You're afraid because the GOP constantly tells you to be. Antifa are out to get you. Illegal immigrants are out to get you. SJWs are out to get you. Gay and trans people are out to get you. Black Lives Matter is out to get you. And of course the Muslims are out to get you though not as much as before because Trump is president now and the GOP likes to control that narrative to make it look like he fixed it since thats what he campaigned on.

reply

The SAME can be said about Trump supporters. There is blame on both sides, so stop making it a one-sided issue.

reply

I’m sick of his lying

reply

I'm sick of HIM. PERIOD.

reply

So you are just sick of politicians? They all like, fyi.

reply

Some say they're all puppets.

reply

I am constantly entertained by the TDS patients. All day every day and there's still 6 more years to go.

reply

You must be easily-amused then, so you spend the entire day bumping up 2-year old threads with all your sock accounts in the lamest most "I've never touched a woman in my LIFE" indicative way I've ever seen.

reply

Are you as entertained by the way other T-rump supporters like Amerigirl are living each day under T-rump? It's going to be a long six years for her should he make it that long, and it doesn't sound like she can handle it in her post above.

But do tell us if you're equally entertained by her life these days ?

reply

He entertains! Far more amusing than calculated Obama was. But his election also proves what a lot have always said about certain.... voters.

I cant call it a win, since he lost, so I can only call it an election.

reply

I haven't noticed a change in my taxes so far but my parents are paying more and are pissed about it. I didn't think it would kick in this fast but things are only going to get worse for the middle class. Like most things we'll have to wait and see. Thankfully he doesn't have the balls to repeal Obamacare like repubs were saying they would for the last eight years because then people would really see a change for the worse.

reply

Yes, some people seem to pay more that's for sure.

reply

Mine hasn't changed much, though online, oh my God, it is REALLY volatile out there!

Oh yeah, and I can't watch many tv shows or movies anymore because too many are ultra-liberal propaganda and have people in them I don't like, or just plain bad writing in general. Heck, the only actual mainstream tv we watch anymore are game shows.

reply

There is blame on both sides. I've had Trumpers threaten to kill me online many times. One told me they were going to break into my house, drag my wife and I out into the streets, and gut us. They've said: "We will bathe the ground red with the blood of liberals if Trump is removed" and several of them told my wife to "get out of my country" even though she's a legal US citizen.

There is PLENTY of blame, hatred and vitriol on BOTH sides.

In my life I don't feel as though Christianity is a threatened species. He's not a Christian, don't get me wrong. But Obama seemed to have us in the crosshairs. He's not a conservative, either, but every now and then he tosses us some red meat. I trust him as far as I can throw him, which is how I felt about Obama. But Trump knows on which side the bread is buttered, and he's not going to sell us too far down the river -- he can't afford to. Obama was in the process of kicking us to the curb. The only religion or special group under Obama that did NOT deserve special status was Christianity. Everyone else's beliefs or lifestyles were to be respected at the expense of Christianity. It's nice to feel as though the axe isn't going to fall on one's neck.

reply

You wouldn't have cared about Obama saying "seasons greetings" if Fox News didn't tell you to. Just like you wouldn't have cared about Obama not saying "radical Islam" if Fox News didn't tell you to. You can swear up and down that you don't watch Fox News or listen to Rush Limbaugh but the reality is that all Trump does is cater to the Fox Noise audience. Obama was guilty of catering to it a little bit himself. He was often afraid what the opposition would say about him. So I guess that is one good quality of Trump over Obama. Trump doesn't care what his opposition thinks. It makes him a divider but it makes him one that exudes strength over weakness. Democrats have a habit of never fully embracing the extremes of their base. Except for Bernie. But you know darn well if Bernie was to never back down that the DNC would find a way to criticize him. The RNC loves a big strong man telling them to bow down. The DNC prefers a guy they can push around.

reply

But I didn't have TV until recently, so there goes your supposition that Fox had to think for me. If a person in Lake Oswego, Oregon, in an area where there are more gay cake makers than you can shake a stick at (I live in Oregon) is hounded out of business because these gals can't do what any other person would do and just go to the gay baker in the next block rather than target the Christian baker, then it looks like open season. Especially when the lovely couple never tried their gambit on the various Halal bakeries in the area. I don't need Fox, Rush, or any of the others to tell me the difference between right and wrong.

You have a very simplistic view of life. I think it comes from the way your mind works.

His massive anti-immigration stance scared my wife (who was a legal immigrant from Asia) so much that we accelerated our plans to get her US citizenship taken care of.

Everyone told us: "You're going to be fine. She's legal! What are you worried about?" but we were undeterred. That psycho bent over backwards to screw not only illegals but even some legals. Plus, she wanted to visit her family in her home country and we didn't want to deal with any bs from security and knew it would be easier if she was a citizen.

We accelerated our plans by three years and spent money we didn't have on almost $1000 worth of naturalization paperwork/filing and she is now a US citizen.

We have no regrets.

Trump is unhinged, hate-filled and has nothing but disdain for ALL immigrants. That psycho could have placed a ban on immigrant at any point and, given all his insanity over these past few years, I wouldn't put it past him to eventually do it.

Trump was the first president that ever scared me and I wasn't going to sleep well at night as long as there was even a REMOTE chance of my wife being torn from my arms by that sick, demented, orange psycho.

So, yes--he affected my daily life.

Still does, too. We constantly wonder if we're going to be the target of racists because of how emboldened those knuckle-draggers are now that Trump is president. Someone shouted "get out of my country as they drove by my wife and I last year while we were going into a movie theater and we came outside to find our car vandalized with a milkshake splashed all over it. My wife has lived in America for over a decade and nothing like this ever happened to us until Trump was elected.

I have plenty to hate about Trump but this tops them all.

So, yes--my life was affected by Trump but more importantly--my INNOCENT wife's life was affected by it as well.

Anyone who wants to tell me I'm blowing this out of proportion can go to hell, as far as I'm concerned.

PS: And NO...I am ***NOT*** a liberal.
