IfImBoredImHere, I think calling what I wrote political vitriol is more than a tad hyperbolic.
I used simple words to say that T-rump made his "let's have FIREWORKS on the Mall on the 4th of July!" sound like he had this BRILLIANT idea - which no one had ever had before.
When T-rump made that statement this week, reporters had to ask 2 (TWO!) follow-up questions where it clearly gleaned on T-rump that he might not have been the 1st guy who thought of having that party on that day.
I mock him, it's true. I'm allowed.
T-rump isn't known for being a scholar. He isn't known for being kind to his predecessors & he's never given others credit. Do YOU think that he ever read any biographies of John Adams, the 1st guy to propose such July 4th celebrations? Do YOU think he was aware of past celebrations right there on the Mall?
Because there's no evidence that he does know or is aware that people celebrate the holiday and HAVE done so - right there where he suggested. SMDH.
I've celebrated the 4th of July all my life, even when I was out of the country for the holiday. I've marched in parades in uniform. I've celebrated the holiday in Washington DC, once on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, another time watching the fireworks reflect on the black wall inscribed with the names of fallen soldiers - people who fought & died in a war which T-rump supported yet did not serve.
But T-rump knows more than the generals. He's said that. T-rump has allowed 3 members of his Mar-A-Lago golf club make POLICY on the Veteran's Administration.
The 9/11 comment? Trump made a statement about witnessing "10s of 1000s of Muslims in New Jersey CELEBRATING the destruction of the Towers." He claims to have witnessed that.
I question his judgment.
He would be a HORRIBLE witness in court.
As would you if you think what I wrote in either post was a case against a July 4th celebration.
Last? I'm NEVER bored & I feel sorry for people who are & come HERE to relieve it.
