Donald prepared to "force shutdown for more than a year"

Wow...I never thought I'd say this, but Donald just out-Trumped himself. Only a narcissistic, dementia-addled psycho could say such a thing.

While this would never happen, just think about what a year-long shutdown would do...we would collapse into utter ruin on many fronts. Hell, TSA employees would go on strike/quit and we'd be MORE vulnerable than ever to security threats. Just...wow...

It's time to invoke the 25th against Grandpa Donnie.

Maybe it would be a good thing to shut down the government until the next elections. Because sooner than later, one of his own followers will shoot him dead.

Trump is doing Putin's bidding which is to destroy democracy and America. I'm not surprised. Trump just praised the former Soviet Union for its communist invasion on Afghanistan which eventually led to the deaths of over 3,000 Americans in the 9/11 attack.

reply

You blame Soviet Union for 9/11?
It was CIA who financed Bin Laden to fight the Soviets.
And it was probably Israel who orchestrated the 9/11.

reply

I am surprised the right isn't calling Trump a snowflake. Only a snowflake would shutdown the government because he didn't get what he wanted....just like a baby threatening to hold his breath until mommy gives him candy.

"...t was CIA who financed Bin Laden to fight the Soviets."

AFTER the Soviets invaded Afghanistan.

Short article about how the atheist Soviets tried to stamp out Islam, but instead radicalized Muslims.

Soviets didn't invade, they were invited to help fighting the terrorists. The Afghan government, having secured a treaty in December 1978 that allowed them to call on Soviet forces, repeatedly requested the introduction of troops in Afghanistan in the spring and summer of 1979. They requested Soviet troops to provide security and to assist in the fight against the mujaheddin rebels.

reply

"they were invited"

LOL. The Soviets/Russians always declare they are invited when invading a foreign country. Anyway, the 1973 coup by Soviet-backed Khan has their fingerprints all over it.

The mujahideen were fighting against Soviets who had invaded their country which was my original point about Soviets radicalizing Muslims.

I'm not sure why you're defending the Russians/Soviets. A country with no tourism because nobody wants to visit let alone immigrate there. And I can't think of one innovation that anyone or any business has created. A crappy government that sucks the life force out of its own citizens and invades neighboring countries. They held onto democracy for how long - a year or two?

reply

I'm not defending anyone. Just stating the facts. CIA does coups and instates US puppet dictators all the time. Soviets were just doing the same. US also invades countries all over the world under the pretense of "bringing freedom to the people", while the main goal is control over resources of those countries, and destroying their sovereignty.

reply

I agree with all of that.

But, the Soviets created Islamic terrorism against Western countries. I blame the U. S. and other countries for plenty of other things.

reply

"Trump is doing Putin's bidding which is to destroy democracy and America."

That is a good point. If Putin had the ability to shut the US government down for a day by a press of a button then he would be hitting that button every day of his life.

reply

divide and conquer indeed

reply

The Democrats should just let him run with it and keep calling it Trump's Shutdown, which it is. Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better.

reply

Totally agree with that. Some people open their minds only after they hit rock bottom, never before.
