Real (not fake) reports from the Migrant Caravan

You're not going to get journalism from the Lyin' MSM, just Democrat propaganda.

Filmmaker Ami Horowitz Embedded Himself In The Migrant Caravan https://dailycaller.com/2018/11/13/fimmaker-embedded-migrant-caravan/

Ami Horowitz went to the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca to film the caravan.

“What we do know is this thing cost millions and millions of dollars. The mainstream media, and there are so many layers [of] onions to peel back, it’s hard to know where to begin. One of the lies the fake news if you will, media is trying to propagate is the fact that all this weird organic thing and all the water and the food and medicine, all dropped from … manna from heaven. It’s bologna. It’s all highly organized. It’s paid for by a number of organizations, we don’t know exactly where the money is coming from.”

“Why haven’t other news organizations gotten to the bottom of this? You’re one man, you’re doing this independently. Why isn’t NBC News or ABC or PBS, why aren’t they on this?” Carlson asked.

“You know the answer to that. They don’t want to get to the bottom of this. They have no interest politically in getting to the bottom of it. The same reason why, when you see a photo in The New York Times or The Washington Post or a video on CNN or the BBC or MSNBC. What do you see? The entire framing are women and children when the reality is so far from the truth, 90-95 percent of all the people in this caravan are men. Although I do apologize for assuming their gender,” Horowitz responded.

Ami Horowitz Goes To Mexico To Learn 'The Truth Behind The Caravan' https://www.dailywire.com/news/38293/watch-ami-horowitz-goes-mexico-learn-truth-behind-james-barrett

Horowitz took his crew down to the base camp for the caravan in the southern state of Oaxaca, which he describes as "an area of Mexico which is riddled with narco-crime and cursed with extreme poverty."

"Despite the framing of the caravan as being full of women and children, the reality on the ground is quite different. Approximately 90 to 95% of the migrants are male," notes Horowitz, over footage of rows and rows of men.

"The major narrative being pushed by the press is that the migrants are leaving Honduras because they are escaping extreme violence and that their lives are under constant threat, setting up the strategy that they will be able to enter the U.S. by asking for asylum," "he says. "So I started by asking them a simple question: Why are you coming to America?"

The answers he gets don't appear to align with the "extreme violence" claims. "Well, I'm looking for a better life — economic," says one male migrant. "I wish to get there and work there," another male migrant says. "Because in Honduras there are no jobs," says another. "We are looking for a better life, because we don't have jobs," another man agrees.

Most of the other migrants Horowitz features answer something similar: "For jobs," "To work." Some of the migrants cite education. "Because I want to finish my studies there," says one young man.

As for the "spontaneity" of the caravan, Horowitz demonstrates that it's anything but spontaneous: "There's a massive logistical effort underway, akin to moving an army," he explains, over footage of all of the manpower and resources required to keep the caravan operational. "And it's clearly costing someone millions of dollars for transportation, food, water, medicine and services that are being provided for members of the caravan."

"It's a supply chain that's being delivered by an army of trucks, which are all necessary to keep this enormous group moving forward," he continues over video of trucks filled with supplies and transport vehicles crammed with migrant men.

Along with the Mexican government, which is helping to escort the caravan, and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, which is supporting the caravan's efforts, are "ever-present" members of a group called Pueblo Sin Fronteras, or "People Without Borders," a self-described "immigration rights group" that is supporting and directing the caravan toward its final destination.

reply

Other than the name of the front group, Pueblo Sin Fronteras, the rest was stuff I'd been either asking or surmising for some time now. Of course it requires the logistics to move an army. And of course they weren't really looking for asylum, or they'd have applied at embassies all along the way. They're pawns in an effort to tear down the Southern border.

reply

That's quite a racist conspiracy theory you've got going there, nutcase.

reply

Indeed. And he/she doesn't even try to disguise it! Don't you love that? Just puts it out there for the world to read.

reply

If you're looking for asylum you are required by international law to apply at the nearest country to which you can flee. No, these people are not looking for asylum; yes, Pueblo Sin Fronteras is an actual group that want to just be able to walk right into any country and make themselves at home -- one usually sees them waiving signs saying, "People Are Not Illegal!" (no, but when one comes into or stays in a country illegally, the common term is "illegal alien"); and if you didn't have that nasty reading comprehension problem you'd notice that the people in the caravan are considered VICTIMS in my post. The word "pawns" threw you and Doggie, apparently. 🤦🏼‍♀️ 🙄

reply

"No, these people are not looking for asylum"

The people in these caravans are seeking a life away from turmoil. If that comes in the form of asylum, they'll take it. It doesn't matter to them what word you call it. Whatever the process requires them to do, they'll go for it. If asylum or any form of immigration isn't possible, they'll settle for living in Mexico just like the people of Mexico currently do. And if they are let in, they aren't here to rape your women or sell you their drugs so they can sneak back over the border to get more.

"Pueblo Sin Fronteras is an actual group that want to just be able to walk right into any country and make themselves at home"

The ability to go anywhere in the world and make yourself at home sounds like something 99% of humanity would want. Imagine being born on some tiny unclaimed island with all the Destinatas of every country saying "You don't belong here." Well, there's always that unclaimed portion of Antarctica you could inhabit, right?

reply

Bravo to you and your answer. I commend you for still having the energy to try and talk logic to these people. It’s just a dead end, IMO.

reply

Yeah probably.

reply

Destinata - I don't know who you've been asking or what stuff you're surmising but you ought to try different resources because the ones you're using are failing you.

It doesn't MATTER how many embassies the caravan passes. Like most countries, Canadian & US embassies & consulates can't even process requests for asylum protection because, under Canadian & U.S. laws, asylum seekers can apply only if they are physically present in Canada or the US at a port of entry like an airport or a border.

And there are 2 forms of Asylum processes - Defensive & Affirmative - & both require proof of credible & reasonable fear.

****BUT YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THESE EASILY LOOK-UPABLE FACTS, DO YOU?***

How do I know this? Because of this:

They're pawns in an effort to tear down the Southern border.

Um. That's quite the paranoid, hysterical bullshit theory you're carrying there.

Let me help you take a load off. Let's break it down. If there's some master plan to tear down borders around the globe - don't you think that the planners of THIS mission would provide better FOOTWEAR for their soldiers than flip-flops?

I hate how RWNJs turn organizations built to HELP people into something nefarious. Refugee-aid groups are created to ensure that women & children (&men) aren't raped or robbed of what little they possess & carry with them. They provide legal advice & a modicum of protection. They're not building an army, FFS

You DO know that an American embassy is considered American soil, right? Apparently not. Your misunderstanding hung up a lot of people on Twitter, too. But they slapped themselves on the forehead, said, "Oh! Right! I forgot!" and realized they were wrong. You won't do that. I don't think you're any more capable of saying that than Donald Trump is.
"Um. That's quite the paranoid, hysterical bullshit theory you're carrying there." Well, I come from Oregon where the streets are blocked in Portland by protestors who insist that there honestly shouldn't be any borders: https://www.city-journal.org/protests-in-portland. Do pay close attention to that organizer's genius response on what people should do instead.

Even Bernie Sanders rejects the "open borders" idea (just as, believe it or not, most Republicans reject racism and the KKK). But he's not so ill-informed as to think that there isn't a movement that wants it.

"If there's some master plan to tear down borders around the globe - don't you think that the planners of THIS mission would provide better FOOTWEAR for their soldiers than flip-flops?"

Drop the hysterical "master plan" stuff and ask yourself how all these people are being fed, given water to drink, or otherwise taken care of. Maybe you think they're showing up in towns and demanding food and water, or scavenging off the land, raiding people's gardens? Hundreds of people? Ask yourself how all these people wind up in a caravan to begin with. I mean, if you decide to go to someplace two states over, do hundreds of people just magically show up saying, "Can I go with?" No, all this takes a LOT of organization. But you think the people are only getting "legal advice & a modicum of protection"???

Bless your heart!

To repeat: Asylum seekers CANNOT BY US & CANADIAN LAW go to a consulate or embassy & gain asylum. Consulates & Embassies are not PORTS OF ENTRY into the US or Canada.

This is not hard to look up. It's the law. It's not your interpretation of it. It's statute. Title 8 Chapter 12 § Subchapter II, Part I.

NO ONE IS SUGGESTING THE US HAVE OPEN BORDERS. You claim that some random protestors in Portland insist that there "honestly shouldn't be any borders?" Riiiight. That nails this talking point for you? Someone interviewed on the street is your proof? (Eyeroll) By your "logic" tiki torch marchers who were interviewed in Charlottesville speak for you.

Giving food, water & protection to desperate people on their journey *IS* what refugee assistance is about.
You suggest Pueblo Sin Fronteiras has some other purposes besides providing sustenance & safety but you never name what that other purpose is.

You've given this no real thought, obviously.

I've asked myself those questions you proposed but I asked MORE. I asked what would make someone leave the only home they've known, all family, friends, teachers & priests.

Do you ever give ONE thought about the people who are risking everything for the chance to work for a better life for themselves & their children? Do you ever ask yourself if you'd make a 1000 mile journey with your kids -alone? Or would you join other people in similar circumstances - JOIN a caravan - because there's safety in numbers? You travel alone & there are no witnesses if anything befalls you. There is safety in numbers & your numbers draw attention to your plight. If THAT happens, there is a possibility for change. Peaceful, orderly change.

But when ASSWIPES like you & Trump muddy the waters of that plight with hysterical hypothetical BULLSHIT, you have no heart to bless.

So stop typing out of your ass. You're not helping. Also? Fuck off.

One of the best posts I've read on here in a long time.

Wow, what a racially charged and manipulative report from the REAL fake news, Reich-Wing hate media.

"One of the lies the fake news if you will, media is trying to propagate is the fact that all this weird organic thing and all the water and the food and medicine, all dropped from … manna from heaven. It’s bologna. It’s all highly organized. It’s paid for by a number of organizations"

Oh no, there are humanitarians trying to prevent these poor people from dying. ITS A CONSPIRACY!

None of those answers contradict escaping violence.

They were asked WHY THEY ARE COMING TO AMERICA, not "Why did you leave your homeland." Thus, they answered what they want to find in America.

Alas, this racist topic is not a surprising coming from you, Satan, since you've posted racist material here before.

Notice not a peep of 'the caravan' from T-rump since November 6? Not a peep. It's been all forgotten.

He should have sent the National Guard to help the people who lost everything in the deadly California fires. But he doesn't like liberal California.
