President Trump Approval Rating at 50% And Climbing

According to the latest Rasmussen poll released yesterday, President Trump's approval rating is now at 50% nationally. On the same day of his first term President Obama's approval rating was at 45%.

Winning.

reply

Don't Rasmussen poll only survey people via landlines?

reply

Wait a minute... I thought all you Trump supporters believe that polls and surveys are fake.

reply

President Trump's re-election victory in 2020 is going to make Ronald Reagan's re-election in 1984 look like a squeaker by comparison.

reply

All other polls show T-rump sliding back into the 30s after tying his 'all time high' of 40% the other day. Not sure about what you're posting.

reply

Trump has an okay approval rating on the Rasmussen poll, but if it was a poll from the New York Times and the numbers didn't favour him, he'd say: "the failing New York Times says that my approval rating is down. They are the king of fake news."

reply

"Not sure about what you're posting."

Wow - they're the only ones polling at such a 'high' rate when all the other pollsters show him at 34-36%, which sounds more credible. Not sure who they're polling, but if it's just those with 'landlines', they're missing the majority of Americans.

reply

According to Rasmussen: "To reach those who have abandoned traditional landline telephones, Rasmussen Reports uses an online survey tool to interview randomly selected participants from a demographically diverse panel."

Personally, I have never voted democrat in 30 years and I have not bothered to have a house phone in almost 10 years.

reply

It doesn't count those with cell phones. So if they can't reach you by landline, or 'online', you're not being polled.

Plus they claim they poll 'likely voters' (however they define 'likely', as that's very arbitrary). Other pollsters poll those adults aged 18 or over. Big difference.

reply

Agreed, but since only about half of Americans vote, there is something to be said about polling likely voters instead of just everyone over 18 (half of which will not vote). And only 37% voted in the 2010 midterms! So a blanket phone calling technique would only get 1 voter out of three polled.

reply

I personally wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the 18+ year olds, or compare this to any other mid-terms (let alone 2010). Take a look at the outcry of young adults over the Florida shooting two weeks ago.

reply

I never listen to political polls. If you watch Fox News, it will favour Trump. If you watch CNN, it won't favour him. It's all biased.

reply

Quinnipiac has him at 37% after hitting a 'high' of 40% two weeks ago, as does CNN.

reply

For many years, Fox News literally got its daily talking points from Republican party handlers.

CNN has been corporate news since it was purchased from Ted Turner decades ago.

MSNBC is owned by Comcast now and GE before that. They are left of right, but that isn't even in what used to be the center.

Yeah, they are all biased ... none of them are left. It really just depends on how far right you want to go.

reply

That's the problem with media and why I rarely watch news. I want to see a reputable news organization that just reports news.

reply

That used to be The MacNeil Lehrer News Hour on PBS.

There isn't much of it left in the mainstream press.

No way we get The Pentagon Papers or Watergate with these people.

The press never made G.W. Bush accountable for his WMD and Valarie Plame lies even though it was clear his advisors knew what was going on in both cases. It is sad that the fourth estate is now as corrupted as the first three.

reply

Libs are furious that America hasn't burned to the ground yet and is only getting better lol.

reply

Is it?

Credit card capitalism looks good until the bills come do, and those "libs" have to bail America out again.

The only people better off end up being the extremely wealthy and their surrogates.

reply

The Gallop pole has the current approval rate at 39%.

reply

That's true, but Gallup polls all voters, not just likely voters and let's be serious, who cares what people who have no intention to vote, think?

reply

I don't know.

After all, a minority of voters actually voted for Trump; a minority of voters voted for Republicans in the House, and a minority of voters are represented by the Republican majority of Senators in the Senate. That Senate would not allow a majority voted sitting President to advance a nomination for the Supreme Court and used their minority backed majority in the Senate to suspend the rules and place one of the most extreme right judges on the court in his place to hold a majority there.

That is American democracy in action.
