The issue is that a person with power like Trump said those remarks and intends to prevent them for coming into America. Russia is not a "shithole country" but that doesn't mean people want to flock there for some well-needed R&R.

This is true. I visited a grade school outside of Arusha, Tanzania when I was there last year with a group of 14 people. We all fell in love with the children. They treated us like visiting royalty. They waved and laughed and happily posed for photos They shouted "Jambo! Jambo!", which is Hello and Goodbye in Swahili. They were happy despite the fact that their school had no electricity and no running water. And the school outhouse was a joke, even for a shithole country.
I felt so sorry for them. The head teacher asked for money, and I gladly gave her some.
Here's where the story turns dark. I have twice since sent them money, and asked them to acknowledge that they received it. I even sent a self-addressed envelope. I never heard from them again, so I stopped. Apparently the money never got to them, or the teacher kept it for herself. Either way: corruption. Sad.

Regarding the OP question, because leftwingers are a bunch of hypocrites!
The same reason why the Hollywood left hasn't "left the country since Trump was elected." Where else could they go to sell their bull@#$% and make tons of money without any talent?
The same reason why they lecture US about our carbon footprint while riding in limousines, private jets and living in air conditioned 25 room mansions with pools and landscaping which they have watered and kept green through one of California's worst droughts.

But honestly the hypocrisy of the limousine liberals burns me up. From V.P. Al Gore's world tour via private jet to lecture everyone on their carbon footprint to Barbra Streisand advising housewives to line dry their clothes while she maintains an air conditioned mansion and a separate air conditioned building housing her movie memorabilia to the rest of Hollywood lecturing us about how to live our lives while they do coke, make filthy movies and protect the likes of Harvey Weinstein... I don't know whether to cry or gag!

The people were very nice to me (and my lovely American money) and I loved visiting a grade school near Arusha, Tanzania. The kids were great! However that doesn't change the fact that they are indeed, shithole countries. Their school had no running water or electricity, and I don't even want to go into the disgusting condition of these poor kids' school outhouse. If that doesn't make it a shithole country, nothing would.

Liberals are too busy jerking off to the sound of their own voices to think about why they don't follow through with what they say. You'll notice that George Clooney and JK Rowling were among the most vocal proponents of 'saving the refugees' and calling anyone who was against it a racist bigot, meanwhile not one of their 20+ rooms in their multiple villas is inhabited by a refugee. I could be wrong, but didn't Madonna at one time live in England while married to her now ex-husband Guy Ritchie? I believe that's where she picked up the phony British accent which she affected for a while.
Unfortunately she decided to return to the USA despite how terrible she thinks it is just in time to threaten to blow up the White House. If her delicate sensibilities are so upset, she really should return to the U.K. and pay their exorbitant taxes!
