I will agree that the federal government steals a lot with its confiscatory tax rates. But I pose the same question I had before. Why would millionaires and billionaires "steal" from the poor? What the freak do we have to steal?

I NEVER said that the rich are "struggling" But that is not the effing point, you foolish person! The government has NO right to take more from people because they make more! Duh, will you ever get that?
The money earned by the rich does NOT belong to Washington!
As for big nose Babs. I owe her nothing. I paid to see some of her movies and I never got a thank you card. I am sure she has used her name and reputation to raise money for good causes. Good for her. She "added $10 million" of her own money? Well if you say so! But I'd like to see proof of that figure. However considering that she has earned zillions in her career and all her many "final, farewell" tours, I'm guessing she could afford it and she didn't exactly have to tighten her belt.
I loather her politics and I have been on her website, what a moron. But I can respect the fact that she has raised money for causes. But what I owe her? Nothing, zip, zilch!
But still, you call her part of the 1% who gets to "keep her own money", sheesh what a "crime". She has the right to keep her money.
What drug addicts did I talk about? But now that you mention it, we have a lot of them here due to a major influx from the cities. The slumlords who have HUD, another lovely government program, advertise in the cities. We used to have quiet, nice communities. But now, thanks to people following those freebies, we have drug dealers and addicts. Crime is up. We've had break-ins and shootings which never happened before.
The HUD landlords bring in the worst of the worst whose welfare checks go further in a small town. Thus they have more money for drugs. We've had a rash of overdoses and emergency services rush in to revive them with Narcan (paid for by tax money).
These losers are revived to do more drugs and commit more crimes.
But holy crap! Let us NOT expect people to be responsible for their OWN actions! Blame the eeevil and heartless conservatives who don't give them enough money.

The Federal government needs money from taxpayers each year in order to function; military, salaries, education, science, etc.

Don't change the subject. You said Mrs. Streisand didn't contribute to charities. You're very wrong. You owe her an apology for maligning her.
You mentioned a few posts ago that your area had plenty of drug addicts and no businesses, poverty and you donate food.
You operate in the world of "shoulds". Yes, people "should" be responsible but that's not reality. Some people are broken and escape into drugs, mental illness, alcohol, despair. That's reality. Remove HUD and you just have homeless living on the sidewalk so that's no option.
The drug addiction, poverty, crime are symptoms of what's going on in your area. What's the cause? It sounds like high unemployment and poverty. What is Trump doing to address these issues in your community since he said he would bring back high-paying manufacturing jobs, etc? What have your local elected officials done to attract businesses or other investments? Are there enough treatment facilities and supportive services? More police to manage crime?
Trump's idea is to take more money out of your community and give it to the rich. I don't know why you keep defending the rich at your own detriment? But, at least Charles Barkley can now buy a Rolex.
