I think that Gina Torres is a great actress and I also think, since Halle won't be coming back, she'd make a great Storm for the thrid X-Man movie. Anyone else agree?

shareHhmmmm...you have a very good point here. I had wondered who could play that role, but I had not thought of Ms. Torres. I'm not sure how she'd look in the white wig, but she certainly actress enough to make us overlook that small detail.
shareYeah, I think she'd be good. I really didn't like Halle Berry as Storm to be honest. I think Gina Torres would be good at playing that role. She seems to have a lot more authority, charisma and an air of wisdom that I thought the character always had. Halle's interpretation of Storm came across as a bit of a bimbo to me.
However, I don't see it happening. I read in an interview with her that she doesn't want to do any more sci-fi stuff as she doesn't want to get typecast. Which is a shame, as I think part of the reasons she may get typecast is that she is really good at those type of roles.
Torres would of made a great Storm...
i.e. facial features, body, and endurance.
I'm a huge Berry fan but casting for this role should of been done out of neccessarity, and not popularity.
Besides the upcoming Serenity, perhaps we'll see more of her in a Boxed DVD release of Cleopatra 2525.
Since super hero movies are so popular right now, I hear that a Wonder Woman movie might be made and that JJ or Joss being considered for writing/directing. Of course, Jennifer Garner and Sarah Michelle Gellar were discussed. I think Gina Torres would be even better because of her strong physical presence. Wonder Woman should be an imposing physical figure.

Halle Berry is EXTREMELY SEXY, and actually a good actress, but Gina Torres has shown that she can play a character with quiet confidence and authority; she has that kind of prescence. That said, the x-men movies were a lot of fun, but they didn't really follow the character traits of those in the comics; ex. Scott was always the leader of the team, who had the wisdom to make all the right decisions, and the confidence and persona to inspire his team to follow him ... in the movie, he's just a naive kid, lol. :D
