This guy tops my list of over-rated directors

I have only seen Nightmare Alley and that was not good.

Remaking a classic and a movie that has held up is a challenge. He didn't understand the source material ( novel).

Totally disagree. None of his films are garbage. All of them are at least good and some are genuinely great.
