Everything else he's ever done, along with Broadchurch without being a dick? You don't seem to want to know what else to watch him in. You're looking for validation. Tennant fans are dedicated, so you're unlikely to find much here.
Watch What We Did On Our Holiday. The Decoy Bride (unless you're a guy, then you Just Won't Get It). Doctor Who, series 2 through the end of the specials. Hamlet. Casanova. Fright Night (he's not stellar, but hilarious nonetheless). ALL OF THE EPISODES OF BROADCHURCH. He is how he is for a reason.
Jessica Jones - we was utterly fabulous in that. Bad guy Nativity 2: Danger in the Manger; The Pirates! Band of Misfits; Single Father; his episode in People Like Us (episode: The Actor); Doctor Who some more because it's worth it; Recovery; Blackpool (which you can't judge until you've watched it all. I wouldn't watch it with Boyfriend because he wouldn't give it a good chance after the first episode.
I personally recommend Doctor Who, Casanova, What We Did On Our Holiday, Pirates! Band of Misfits (as the voice of Charles Darwin, voice-over in his diaries, "I shall never know the touch of a real woman.").
You won't like them all. Possibly none of them. But he shot to fame on Doctor Who, though already known to the Brits before that. So start with Doctor Who. Or Casanova, THEN Doctor Who, because Casanova was basically his audition for Russell T. Davies (the showrunner for DW at the time) for the part of the doctor. Watch Casanova. Watch the Series 2 Christmas Special Christmas Invasion (starts right after the previous Doctor regenerates), then follow the rest of season 2. The man has this frantic mad charisma, so when he plays something straight and dour, it's because he has the acting range. Not because he's an uncomfortably awkwardly poor actor who can only deliver straight lines in the least appealing and most untalented hack on the screen at this moment.
And just to be clear, if you don't like him, I'm not trying to convince you to. I hate Hugh Grant, no matter what he's in (aside from Love, Actually). Sometimes an actor just hits you the wrong way. But beyond your point of reference, to a gazillion fans, he's earned every ounce of popularity he's got.
