Good actor but he needs to be in better roles films

There are a category of British actors who become household names and then there are some who are talented but never become "break out names"...

It is probably the result of two things..He's low key in his real life and he's not getting cast in films that are really knock out good. He clearly has done a batch of films but why is Andrew Garfield known or Robert Pattinson or Jude Law.
The films they have done are not just big budget but they have been in films that have mass appeal.

May be he does not want to do same roles like them... He has chosen a lot of interesting roles more than some of the actors you mentioned... Jim does not need to be compared with them and by the way, he is the most handsome actor compared to those 3... I like Andrew Garfield as well and he is a great rising actor.

Every actor is compared to another it's the nature of the beast, just like baseball players or athletes are compared to each other. Actors are no different. Besides how do you know he does not want the same roles. For all you know his agent has sent his name out and he has auditioned for some of the same roles that Pattinson, Law or Garfield has auditioned for...and didn't get it. It has been known to happen that actors audition for the same role..again it's the nature of the beast.

But I love the roles he took so far and also the underrated "The Way Back"... and that role is damn better than all of the Robert Pattinson garbage roles combined in Twilight... He wasted a lot of time there, money is just the reason Twilight is good but aesthetically, it is garbage and it takes advantage on desperate and frustrated teens and women on their 20's...

"...takes advantage on desperate ..."

He does not want to become a star. He chooses small projects or roles that appeal to him. He's been in big films as well, look at The Way Back or Cloud Atlas, but I think his heart is in small films. He said he does not like commercial projects, after making 21 he said he did not like the experience of working in a Hollywood film. He also declined the opportunity to star in a Spiderman musical because he did not like the idea. Clearly he's handsome and talented, he could have become much more like you say, Andrew Garfield or Robert Pattinson, but he's not attracted to fame and attention. I think he's happy with his career, although at the same time, doing only low budget films he will not catch the eye of big directors that will give him better roles or more fame. He's moved on to TV now, I hope his series works out. I miss seeing him in films. His last good film to me was The best offer and that was in 2013. Last year I saw kidnapping Mr Heineken and though it was ok it wasn't a great film. But I like how he doesn't sell out and is true to himself.
