So i have been watching Boardwalk but not too familiar with this actor because he seems relatively unknown, yet i think he has quite a distinguished look there.

And then i go watch Hugo, (i didnt pay too much attention to the cast list here at imdb before seeing this), well i only saw Hugo last Friday, anyway and i didnt really search this board to really enjoy the movie as what it is without much information...

So now i checked these boards again and discovered that this is the same guy who played in hugo and in boardwalk. Well the beard really helped but his characters were also very different. I really didnt think it was the same guy, i thought it was just some unknown second rate actor who suddenly got his lucky opportunity. But it seems he already worked with Scorsese in Boardwalk, and is now playing in Lincoln.

This guy suddenly got a lucky break or what?

Ok he played lead in Serious Man already but still it was 2008 movie and he was 41 already. Most work before that is nothing special.

I have to say his amazing in Boardwalk, really believable.

I watched both recently and did recognize him in Hugo, but only after a few scenes. Great actors can do that. He's flat out perfect as Rothstein. He really seems to epitomize Rothstein's nickname, 'The Brain'.
