The Runaways

Those are good roles she played. I first took notice of her in Panic Room. She did great as such a young kid alongside Jodie Foster.

She's had some very good roles and to pick three I'll go with:
The Cake Eaters
Panic Room
Adventureland

Please note that I have yet to see her performance in Seberg.

I believe her performance in Seberg will finally make you alter your top 3 list, Carved, just as it did mine. In my opinion, she showed more range in her role as Jean Seberg than any of her roles to date: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3u7PKwmx7dg

I still have yet to watch Seberg, LL.

I must confess that one of the reasons is the reported poor quality of the film in those scenes that Kristen is not in.
Another reason is that I don't like to watch films via streaming. I would much rather wait until I can watch it on Blu-ray.

As for Blu-rays, of the three most recent Kristen films that I have bought (Equals, Lizzie and JT Leroy), the one I liked the most was Equals. Lizzie was OK, but sadly, I did not like JT Leroy at all.

Finally, while I know this might be hard to believe, I have also yet to watch Charlie's Angels or Underwater. I am quite annoyed at how expensive the Underwater Blu-ray is right now. In addition, I seem to be content to wait until I can watch CA on cable. I'm gonna wait until I see it before I decide whether or not to buy the Blu-ray.

Oh yeah, because I have not seen Charlie's Angels, Underwater or Seberg, I saw no real reason to go ahead and comment on your thread about them. I did find your posts regarding your script to be interesting though.

I hope that you, your friends and your family are healthy in these very weird times. I'm fine, except for the fact that I'm still on furlough, which, quite frankly, sucks.

Some have told me that they can't tell the difference between 1080p video that has been streamed in contrast to Blu-ray, but at times the difference is quite noticeable, especially in scenes with deep black levels which Underwater was comprised mostly of, so I've noticed this numerous times when comparing a streamed version to the Blu-ray version. This has a lot to do with the streamed video being compressed. I've also noticed that whenever I do a movie edit, some of the video detail and clarity gets lost in the re-encoding process--obviously the video editing program I'm using doesn't allow for completely lossless video editing. Heck, some even go as far as to say that they can't tell the difference between Blu-ray and DVD. Or they can't tell the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rates when watching 1080p video--such ones probably need to get their vision checked. So thankfully both Underwater and Charlie's Angels had excellent audio and video 1080p transfers and looked phenomenal on Blu-ray.

Being that I'm partial to sci-fi flicks, I too would agree that Equals was the best of those three, as it had a more interesting backdrop and storyline, although I must add that all three characters weren't anywhere as layered and multidimensional as her roles where she churned out much better performances, such as in Seberg, where like I mentioned, Kristen displayed impressive range.

Yeah, like I was telling Ron, I'm in the process of rewriting my script, which has proven to be quite a monumental task. But because I regard this as a passion project, it's still vastly enjoyable to work on. One huge obstacle I'm facing right now while working on this screenplay is that real world events are hitting too close to home in relation to the fictional world of my script (e.g., worldwide pandemic, protests raging across America, police/surveillance state, white hats among the top military brass rising up against an authoritarian leader, speeding up of economic inequality during the crisis, climate change continuing to intensify, biggest transfer of wealth to the elite class in history leading to neo-feudalism, talk of universal basic income). The world of the future which I'm building in my mind is starting to take shape, like a self-fulfilling prophecy. But I have to admit that these events will give my story more perspective and backstory to give it even more depth and believability.

Sorry to hear that you are still on furlough, Carved. A close family member of mine has been furloughed since the stay-at-home orders were in place, but at least he's collecting unemployment compensation in addition to up to $600 a week. Ironically, he's now making just as much as he did when he was working. And just a few days ago his boss gave him a call and told him that as soon as the company he's working for gets the green light to reopen, he'll soon be called back to work.

In my opinion, the ones who are essential workers who haven't gotten a bump in pay (hazard pay) and are forced to work under conditions which could endanger their health and are treated like expendable/sacrificial workers, could have an even rawer deal. Ironic, as during normal times, many essential workers, including myself, aren't treated like the indispensable workers they are now making us out to be. So if workers want to demand an increase in pay, benefits or safer work conditions, now's the time to strike when the iron is hot--especially low paid essential workers, like the ones who are working in the healthcare, correctional and meatpacking industries, where COVID-19 cases have exploded across the nation. Anyhow, great hearing from you, Carved, and stay safe, as this virus is about to surge big time in southern states such as Florida, despite Republican governors denying the clear and present danger it poses.
