My copy of 'The Chronology of Water' has arrived

Yesterday, my copy of The Chronology of Water by Lidia Yuknavitch arrived from Amazon.
The book is 303 pages long, not including a 13 page interview with the author at the end of the book.

The inside cover reads ...

The Chronology of Water

THIS IS NOT YOUR MOTHER'S MEMOIR.
In The Chronology of Water, Lidia Yuknavitch, a lifelong swimmer and Olympic hopeful, escapes her raging father and alcoholic and suicidal mother when she accepts a swimming scholarship which drug and alcohol addiction eventually cause her to lose.
What follows is promiscuous sex with both men and women, some of them famous, and some of it S&M, as Lidia discovers the power of her sexuality to help her forget her pain. The forgetting doesn't last though, and it is her hard-earned career as a writer and teacher, and the love of her husband and son, that ultimately create the life she needs to survive.

Wow, pretty powerful stuff, I must say. I look forward to reading it, yet I wonder, when I picture the main character in my mind's eye as I read the memoir, whether I'll be able to picture anyone else's face or will I just visualize Kristen as the main character.

This of course raises the question: who will Kristen cast as Lidia in her film adaptation of the book? Will it be herself, or someone else? And if it is someone else, then who?

OK, assuming that Kristen is successful in making The Chronology of Water into a movie, this would be the tenth book I would have read of films that Kristen was either in or involved with, were based on.

They are ...
The Safety of Objects (read this after I saw the film)
Speak (also read after I saw the film)
Into the Wild (before) (it still amazes me that in the book, Kristen's character only appears on 1/2 of a page. Thank you, Sean Penn, for expanding the role.)
What Just Happened? (before)
Twilight (I only read the first one, and since I did not like it, I never bothered to read the others)
On the Road (first read this in school; reread it when it was announced that Kristen would be in the film)
Still Alice (before)
Certain Women (actually, there is no such book, however I did read the story, Travis, B from the collection of short stories titled 'Both Ways Is the Only Way I Want It', which is what Kristen and Lily Gladstone's segment of the film is based on)
Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk (before)
And now, The Chronology of Water, a project for which Kristen has written the screenplay and will direct, assuming that it does indeed get made.

So most of the books were read after it was announced that Kristen was cast in the films but before the films were released.
How many have you guys read and which ones are they?

EDIT: Almost forgot to mention that earlier this week I happened to watch Paint Your Wagon (1969) on Starz's Westerns channel.
The movie stars Lee Marvin, Clint Eastwood and Jean Seberg. It's a weird combination of a western/musical comedy set in the gold rush era of 1850's California.
It was quite humorous but a bit different what with all the singing. And it was very strange to see and hear Clint Eastwood sing.
That being said, Jean Seberg was utterly gorgeous in it. I wonder whether the film, Seberg, will reenact some of her films being made.
Anyway, I recommend that you watch this film if you can. I think you'll enjoy it as I did.

Finally, this Bruce Springsteen fan shall be heading to the multiplex to watch Blinded By the Light this afternoon.
I have been looking forward to this film since it premiered to glowing reviews at the Sundance Film Festival this past January.

I'm going to get this book also. I've read Speak and another book after it, Catalyst based on the characters in Speak with Melinda more of a background character. It was a good book, a tough story like Speak, and well done by the author Laurie Halse Anderson.

I read the Twilight series books. I did like them, more liking the world of Twilight, not so much about the romance. I wish it had more about that world.

In an IndieWire article published last year, Kristen stated:https://www.indiewire.com/2018/05/kristen-stewart-direct-bisexual-chronology-of-water-1201965222/

“She’s in my blood and I knew that before I met her. As soon as I met her it was like we started this race without any sense of competition. I’m making the movie this summer but other than that, my only goal is just to finish the screenplay and hire a really spectacular actor: I’m going to write the best fucking female role. I’m going to write a role that I want so badly but that I’m not going to play.”

So if these words continue to hold true, Kristen won't be playing Lidia. However, I too would be very interested in finding out who will.
