A totally different birthday song for Kristen

Happy 29th from all your fans ...
Sing it, Betty! https://youtu.be/GRCMzXND4lo

P.S. It just struck me how Betty Boop, the lead character in a children's cartoon, was always dressed like a floozy.
No wonder why we all grew up to be perverts. ;-)

Betty Boop, now there's an oldie! Good find CK, you do have a knack for finding some good stuff, especially with music.

I was just thinking that Kristen's birthday is coming up.

A site from E-news for her birthday showing a scene from all her films. ")

I hate to say this Ron, but those know-nothings at E online left out one film.
Naturally, it was the film I was going to vote for.
Yeah, I'm talking about The Cake Eaters, the film which I still consider contains Kristen's best performance.
Unable to vote for my first choice, I went ahead and voted for my second choice, namely 'Speak,' the film that made me a fan of Kristen.

reply

Hmm, that's too bad that they left that out. Kristen did a great job in that role. As a young actress she took on quite a challenge and nailed it, and that's been a hallmark for her since her earliest days.

reply

"Know-nothings," indeed!!!

I just noticed that those knuckle-heads at E also left out 'Catch That Kid' and 'Still Alice'.
What? Do they have something against Julianne Moore, who won an Oscar for 'Still Alice', and her husband Bart Freundlich, who directed 'Catch That Kid'?

They also left out 'Undertow'! Normally I wouldn't mind because it was a small role in the beginning of the film, but I do mind because therein lies my favorite line that Kristen has thus far spoken onscreen, namely, "Can I carve my name in your face?"

That being said, I will forgive them for also neglecting to include Kristen's awesome 45 seconds in 'Jumper' in their poll. ;-)

reply

Jamie Bell was in "Undertow" and there's one scene of him trying to visit girl friend Kristen. He was chased off by the father who sent his dogs after him, firing pistols in the air. Then we see Jamie doing some strong, fast running through a field. Just tearing across the ground! As I found out more about Bell as he became a favorite actor, he's been a dancer and other things and has been in movies with fight scenes and such. No surprise, the guy is very physical when the role calls for it. He was a main cast member in the cable TV series "Turn: Washington's Spies". Great series, based on real characters and events and I believe quite accurate, as much as they could make it. I've read of some of the series events in history articles and books.

reply

Yeah, I liked Jamie Bell in 'Turn: Washington's Spies' as well, Ron.

Now to complete the list of Kristen's films that the E poll neglected to mention, there's also ...
Anesthesia
Certain Women
Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk

That's eight films for crying out loud!!! That's more than some actors have in their entire filmology.
And of course, I'm not counting Kristen's short films like 'Cutlass', etc.

So for E to label their poll as, "all her best roles," is absurd in the least.

reply

Heh, I guess given how many films she's done, they couldn't get them all listed! But you are right, they left out some of her better roles.
