Excellent! I think this will be a good, fun role for her. Playing a tough gal but with a bit more than battling to her character. At least that's what I assume given that she has said she'd prefer a tough gal role that has a deeper aspect to the character. In any event, I've always liked these Charlie's Angels movies and the older TV show. :)
One of the primary reasons why I really want Kristen to sign onto a role like this Ron is in order to keep her relevant in the minds of mainstream moviegoers. While The Twilight Saga definitely made her a household name, unfortunately for her, it wasn't a role that showcased her range and acting talent. Some could argue that Twilight made her infamous rather than famous in a good way. Hopefully, this role will afford her the opportunity to churn out a critically acclaimed performance like she clearly demonstrated in "Clouds of Sils Maria" and "Personal Shopper". Movie critics and fans of art house films know Kristen is a phenomenal actress. Hopefully, her role in this "Charlie's Angels" reboot will convince mainstream moviegoers, or even AMPAS members of the acting branch for that matter, that Kristen definitely can act.
But then again, many moviegoers seem to be much more preoccupied with an actor's looks rather than her ability to nail a role. Case in point: check out Kristen's "Man she has some nice legs" thread on this board. Thankfully, Kristen is blessed with both good looks and acting talent. So I sure hope Kristen is all dolled up like she is during her Chanel photoshoots and given a multilayered character with witty dialogue to do her justice--a far cry from her Bella Swan character in Twilight.
You have a point. This movie would showcase her acting ability to mainstream audience who still see her as bella and don't watch her indie movies. This has the potential to take her career for next level.

This is a good point. She has had some good roles such as in Adventureland, Snow White, The Runaways, and others and those did pretty well or her role was well received by critics, but it seems she's still not that widely known for what she can do. I think that's because she doesn't take on the huge big tent or big box office film roles that get the larger notice. Her forte or desire is to take roles with more in depth characters which are more often in smaller or art house movies. She does that so well and has received good, positive notice by critics in most or all of these roles.
It sure appears that Kristen either did or is in the process of finalizing the deal. I say this because usually an actor's agent, in her case Gersh, negotiates the contract and works out the details with a movie studio, in this case, I believe it's with either Sony Pictures Entertainment or one of their subsidiaries. A lawyer is usually only hired when the contract is ready to be finalized and signed by the actor, in this case, Kristen. So to paraphrase what I mentioned previously, my best guess is, either her contract is already signed, sealed and delivered in lawyer speak, or it will soon be.
